Rachel Zegler Walking Back Extreme Comments She Made Against Trump Supporters

Rachel Zegler is walking back some rather extreme comments she made against Trump supporters, admitting that she let her emotions get the best of her.

The star reacted to Donald Trump’s presidential win with a long and scathing post, calling Trump supporters “foolish” and cussing the President-elect.

The “Shazam!” actress is apparently not a big fan of the statement she put out following Trump’s win and wants people to know that. Writing in the new statement shared with fans on Instagram on Friday, November 15 – a week after she shared the previous “negative” one – she said, “I let my emotions get the best of me.”

“Hatred and anger have caused us to move further and further away from peace and understanding, and I am sorry I contributed to the negative discourse,” Zegler wrote. “I firmly believe that everyone has the right to their own opinion, even when it differs from my own.”

Rachel Zegler Questions The Intelligence Of Trump Supporters In Lengthy Statement

Zegler was in between acts of her Broadway show, ‘Romeo and Juliet,’ when she took to social media to express her speechlessness over Trump’s win.

She feared living in Trump’s remaining four years of rule will mean enduring “another four years of hatred” and that is a world she does “not want to live in.” Echoing musician Ethel Cain’s comments, she wished “Trump supporters and Trump voters and Trump himself never know peace.”

“It is terrifying the number of people who stand behind what this man preaches,” she continued. “It is a foolish subscription to a false sense of security, of masculinity, of intelligence, of patriotism, and of humanity.”

She then revealed that she would soon be returning to the stage for the second act of her play, but not before sending love “to everyone who needs it today.”

“I will love through these four years of as best i can,” Zegler continued. “F*ck donald trump.”
While some fans thought she went a little overboard with her comments, others chose to go a little overboard with their attacks on the ‘Snow White’ actress.

Political commentator Megyn Kelly went as far as calling for her to be recast in Disney’s upcoming ‘Snow White.’

“[Rachel Zegler] is a pig, and you fired Gina Carano for far less than this nonsense,” Kelly wrote, “her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”
