Raquel Welch – Cause Of Death Revealed

Sex symbol and actress, Raquel Welch died in February at age 82. And now her death certificate has revealed the cause of death. Raquel, nominated twice for a Golden Globe, had gone into cardiac arrest when she passed away. However, the death certificate also revealed the actress’ secret health struggles. And it noted that she had battled Alzheimer’s disease at the time of her death. But Welch never shared her diagnosis of Alzheimer’s diagnosis with the public, pointed out Page Six.

Raquel first soared to fame in two movies in 1966, Fantastic Voyage and One Million Years B.C. making her known as an actress. But that stunning deerskin bikini in One Million Years B.C. deserves credit for Welch’s sex symbol fame. And it also started Raquel off on a career that required her to wear skimpy attire.

For instance, Welch donned an American flag star-spangled swimsuit for the movie Myra Breckinridge in 1970. But the actress recalled “almost” dying shooting that film. Because Raquel had to wear that bathing suit in bad weather, she developed tonsillitis. “I had already so much penicillin when I was wearing the fur bikini that I almost died,” shared the actress. And she recalled rushing to a doctor’s office to survive her swimsuit adventures in film-making.

“I had to rush, turn my car around and head right back to the doctor’s office, just run upstairs, jump in the elevator and all that,” added Welch. “And I barely got there. They had to shoot me with an antidote. Otherwise, I would have died. It was really rough shoot, man. Really rough. And then I came to London and everybody knew who I was,” recalled Raquel of her sudden fame.

Raquel Welch – Won Golden Globe Award

But beyond that sex symbol status, Welch also received praise from critics. And Raquel took home a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical for her role in the 1974 hit The Three Musketeers. In 1995, Empire magazine named Welch one of the 100 Sexiest Stars in Film History. And Playboy ranked Raquel third in its list of 100 Sexiest Stars of the 20th Century.

However much she succeeded professionally, Welch struggled personally. And she wed on four occasions. First, Welch tied the knot with her high school boyfriend James Welch. And the two co-parented two children. But then Raquel married Patrick Curtis. She later wed André Weinfeld, then went through another divorce before marrying and then divorcing Richard Palmer. Welch’s son Damon, 63, and daughter Tahnee, 61, survive her.
