Raven-Symoné – Asks People To Stop Calling Her Fat
Body-shaming is something we easily do everyday on the internet without thinking of the vast consequences it may have on the mental health of the subject.
For example, stars like Selena Gomez, Bebe Rexha and Ariana Grande have had to come forward and plead with their fans to stop commenting on their weight.
Gomez even offered an explanation as to why she’s gaining weight, and believe me, we do not deserve any explanation.
Speaking on her recently launched radio program, “The Best Podcast Ever With Raven and Miranda,” Raven-Symoné opened up about having had more surgeries than she dares to count during her teenage years.

The star, 37, first rose to fame when she starred as the lead star on Disney’s sitcom “That’s So Raven” during her late teens, and being young at the time, she couldn’t deal with her rising fears and doubts over her body image.
“There was paperwork involved,” she told her co-host and wife Miranda Pearman-Maday. She added that her father “suggested strongly” that it would be in her best interests if she could make her breasts look smaller.
“He was like, ‘So you don’t feel bad, is there anything that you want?’ I was like, ‘Yeah, if I get lipo, will people stop calling me fat?’ So I got a twofer,” the “Raven’s Home” actress went on.
“It was just a mess, just being that young and the pain of it all,” she said, before going on to detail that she did suffer from a lot of back pains even before the surgery, but once she was done with it, she suffered her first seizure.

“I remember waking up and seeing everything, and then I started to have this dry mouth and couldn’t breathe, and then I went back under, and they were like, ‘Oh yeah, you had a seizure,’ Raven-Symoné recounted.
She recalled feeling a lot of discomfort following the multiple operations, which left her with a scar tissue to this day.

After the primary surgery, she continued to gain weight and had to go back to be operated on a second time.
Even as she did all this to please the trolls and keep them from harassing her, they still kept right on “because I wasn’t as skinny as everybody else and they still called me fat.”
She said: “You get that done, and it’s still not what everybody wanted to see.” She then went on to advise people to seek therapy first before deciding to change their body.
