Imagine disrupting the internet for weeks on end and boom, declaring that all’s well. What am I talking about?
The high profile case going on between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively, which Lively singlehandedly sparked when she not only filed in December, but The New York Post published a scathing article on it. In this case, all’s not well that ends well, especially when it gets cut off prematurely.
Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s Legal Teams Refuse To Resolve Conflict Outside of the Courtroom
Lively and Baldoni will continue sparring well into 2026 it seems. Even though some of the buzz has died down – the climax probably taking place around the time Baldoni launched a website and published several texts he exchanged with Lively – the disagreement is yet to do so.
On Thursday, Feb. 13, Lively and Baldoni’s lawyers submitted a joint letter to the Manhattan judge overseeing their duelling lawsuits.
Per reports, Lively’s lawyers believe that they would eventually expand their list of defendants, though specific names are yet to be disclosed.
In her Dec. 31 lawsuit, the ‘Green Lantern’ actress accused her ‘It Ends With Us’ co-star Justin Baldoni of making the set an uncomfortable place due to his sexually harassing behavior. She further claimed Baldoni promised to sink her reputation if she ever squeaks.
Well, she’s doing more than squeaking now, and Baldoni is coming at her with all he’s got, including a $400 million lawsuit against The New York Times for publishing Lively’s claims.
In late January, the court issued both parties an order to engage in mediation as part of the dispute-resolution process. In response, the legal teams have agreed that a resolution would be “inappropriate” and “premature” at this stage.
The letter further requested US District Judge Lewis Liman to release them from the mediation requirement.
Unless the judge grants the exception, the stars’ legal teams will need to have a sit-down and try their hand at reaching a mediation as per the mandate on employment-related lawsuits.
Business Insider published a letter where both parties had already agreed “that settlement discussions would be premature” since late January. After further discussions last Friday, they remained in agreement that mediation was “inappropriate.”
Since the media circus officially started, Lively and Baldoni sources have revealed that both are under immense pressure and anxiety over the destructive backlash this has caused.
