Priscilla Presley is reportedly so done with the feud she’s begging her granddaughter to find a way to move forward from it. According to a source, the 79-year-old is keen to spend her final days at Graceland, and finally, to be buried next to Elvis Presley, despite the fact that they had divorced before his death.
The History Of The Feud Between Priscilla Presley And Riley Keough
It takes a special kind of family to start fighting over property just days after the tragic death of a beloved one, but that’s exactly what happened between Priscilla and Riley in the wake of Lisa Marie Presley’s death on Jan. 12, 2023.
Prior to Lisa Marie‘s death at age 54, she had had a falling out with her mother and made some changes to her trust which her mother claimed not to be aware of.
The changes meant that Priscilla was removed as part of the trustees for her $500 million estate, with Riley, 35, remaining as the sole trustee.
At the time, an insider said, “Priscilla was furious. She couldn’t believe Lisa Marie would stab her in the back like that. But Riley held her ground, well aware of the rift between her mom and grandmother.”
After months of legal contention, the matter was later settled out of court, with Priscilla receiving $1 million to relinquish claims to Lisa Marie’s estate, $1.4 million to take control of the family trust and $400,000 to cover her legal fees. But the bad blood did not entirely go away even with the settlement, per insiders.
“Priscilla took Graceland from bankruptcy to a cash cow as one of the top tourist attractions in America,” an insider noted. “She thought she deserved more.”
After the settlement was reached, Riley reportedly banned her grandmother from Graceland, the home where she and Presley were said to spend their happiest years together.
Priscilla Presley – Proud Of Granddaughter Riley After She Saved Graceland From Scammers
According to sources, the way Riley handled the whole incident with shady Naussany Investments & Private Lending apparently made Priscilla so happy she now wants to put the feud behind her.
Riley apparently saved the impressive estate from being put up for auction by a company trying to pull a fast one.
According to reports, the “Daisy Jones & the Six’ actress moved to secure an injunction that stopped the company from selling the estate to the highest bidder. She further disputed claims that Lisa Marie died still owing the company $3.8 million she’d received as a loan.
Her quick actions led the company to withdraw its claims and to issue an apology to the family. This earned her a certain type of respect from her grandmother. “Priscilla was impressed by the way Riley stepped up,” an insider said.
Wishing to put the rift behind them, Priscilla invited Riley and her twin half-sisters Harper and Finley Lockwood, 15, to her Beverly Hills birthday party in May.
“Priscilla let Riley know she was tired of all the fighting and wanted to spend the rest of her life at Graceland,” the insider shared. “She wants to be buried next to Elvis and Lisa Marie and spend eternity with them on the beautiful grounds of their family home.”
