Rep Addresses The Viral Chris Martin And Dakota Johnson Breakup Rumors
It’s strange waking up to stories that Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson are no longer a couple. Even stranger still when you consider that just a few months back, it was speculated that the couple had quietly gotten engaged for sometime now. So what went wrong with the universe?
Well, according to a rep, nothing went wrong and the couple are still “happily together.” In fact, the insider blasted the breakup rumors as simply “not true.” Phew, the universe is starting to make sense again.
The couple first linked up in 2017 after meeting through a mutual friend. Sometime later, the “Madame Web” star was seen having a great time at one of his shows and speculations that the two were dating naturally abounded.
In 2018, the rumors became fact when the pair were photographed holding hands at Stella McCartney’s Hollywood fashion show.
By the time 2019 rolled in, Dakota, 34, and Chris, 47, had become inseparable. Apart from Chris, who is dad to ex Gwyneth Paltrow’s two teenage kids, serenading Dakota at his concerts, the two have pretty much being a part of each other’s worlds through the years.

According to Dakota, she would often accompany Chris on tour whenever she wasn’t working, adding that they “never really left each other.”
But the most important thing for Dakota is that there is real love between her and Chris’s children.
“Maybe I think about relationships like that differently because I grew up in my family,” Dakota, whose parents are Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, explained to VF. “We were all cool.
Obviously, there were times where it was not cool, but I experienced that, so I don’t want that in my life…It’s better to be kind, and it’s also really nice that everybody actually really loves each other and has each other’s backs.”
In a 2021 interview with Elle UK, Dakota further revealed their favorite activity to do together. “We go out sometimes, but we both work so much that it’s nice to be at home and be cozy and private. Most of the partying takes place inside my house.”
