Two months ago, Ricky Martin’s Nephew Dennis Yadiel Sánchez Martin accused Martins of having a sexual relationship that lasted for seven months with him, Sánchez filed a complaint under Puerto Rico law and claimed that Martin harassed and psychologically abuse him, which resorted to the end of their relationship. At first, Sánchez didn’t make himself known as the person behind the complaint, later on Marca exposed the secret identity, Sánchez also got a restraining order against Martin.
Ricky Martin — Sánchez Reopening The Case
Of course, there’s no way Martin would accept he committed incest with his nephew, he denied it, but then, Sánchez surprisingly dropped the allegations in court. Come to think of it, was it clout that Sanchez wanted to chase with Martin’s name? Why bring up something as serious as this and suddenly, out of the blues, counter your own words? Anyways, due to Sanchez’s action, Martin sued Sanchez for damages and attempted extortion.
Well, this past Friday, it was reported that Sanchez is back with his sexual assault allegations again. The possibility that Sanchez went back to accusing Martins of sexual assault would be because Martins sued him for damages. Also, Sanchez left his name out while filling the complaint so as usual, it was unknown who was accusing Martins of sexual assault, it was a source who wasn’t allowed to talk about it that spilled Sánchez as the accuser.
After Sánchez filled the complaint, one of Ricky Martin’s attorneys José Andréu-Fuentes commented on the action, he said: “These claims are wildly offensive and completely untethered from reality. When this man previously made similar allegations, his legal case had to be withdrawn — not least because he himself admitted under oath that Ricky Martin had never assaulted him in any way.”
“Now, after being sued for trying to extort Mr. Martin, he is attempting to spread his lies again. It is beyond time that the media stops giving this deeply troubled individual the oxygen of publicity and allows him to get the help he so clearly needs.”
Ricky Martin — About Martin’s $20M Lawsuit
On Wednesday, September 7, Ricky Martin filed a lawsuit that says Martin is “being persecuted, besieged, harassed, stalked and extorted by a maladjusted person” who wants to “obtain an economic benefit” or “assassinate [Martin’s] reputation and integrity.”
Martin is demanding nothing less than the sum of $20 million for damages, according to Martin’s lawyer Marty Singer, prior to the case being dismissed, Sánchez went around publicly proclaiming to be Martin’s nephew, Sanchez bombarded Martin with text messages both on Martin’s Instagram and WhatsApp, Sánchez went the extra mile of releasing Martin’s personal cell phone contact on social media.
Martin also requests that his interests, costs, and attorney’s fees be paid. Marty stated in the lawsuit that Sanchez’s actions towards Martin were done out of malice, and for that reason, Martin and his family members no longer feel safe in Puerto Rico because Sánchez really dirtied Martin’s name there. So, Martin is requesting the court to order Sánchez to “immediately refrain from communicating with Plaintiff and his family, either personally, by telephone and/or through social networks.”
