The famous actor is claiming that his nephew lied and fabricated the stories simply to exhort money from him.
Ricky Martin – Sues His Nephew Who Falsely Claimed To Be In A Sexual Relationship With Him
In July, it went viral that Ricky Martin is facing a criminal investigation in Puerto Rico after his nephew accused him of domestic violence. At the time of the report, Ricky’s nephew’s identity was concealed to protect him.
But not anymore, as Ricky is dragging him to court to answer for his unfounded accusations, which he has since recanted.
Ricky Martin’s nephew, Dennis Martin, said that he used to be in a sexual relationship with the singer, and after that, the singer had proceeded to stalk him.
The Puerto Rican singer’s lawyers claim that, even though the accusations were baseless, it still cost their client millions of dollars in lost income.
In the lawsuit, filed in the US territory’s Court of First Instance, Ricky accused his nephew of intentionally making malicious and false allegations in order to get money from him.
The papers state that Ricky Martin, 50, has been “persecuted, besieged, harassed, stalked and extorted” by his “troubled” nephew for economic reasons.
The lawsuit then goes on to state that if the nephew does not suffer any financial loss, he will keep on assassinating “the reputation and integrity of the artist”.
What Did Dennis Martin Accuse His Famous Uncle Of?
In late June/early July, Dennis Martin filed a domestic abuse lawsuit against Ricky Martin, born Enrique Martin. According to reports, Dennis first went to court to request a protection order, instead of filing a police complaint.
The police then tried to contact Ricky within the next few days, with an order that he must not try to contact the petitioner.
Shortly after Ricky’s team released a statement calling the allegations by Dennis “completely false and fabricated”, Dennis dropped the charges.
