Ringo Starr Cancels Rest of Tour With All Starr Band Due To Illness

Ringo Starr Cancels Rest of Tour With All Starr Band Due To IllnessA health concern has forced famous musician Ringo Starr to postpone his last two gigs with the All Starr Band. The gigs were set to take place in Philadelphia and New York City; however, after Starr caught a cold, the doctor recommended canceling them. Fans will receive their refunds for ticket purchases at the original locations.

A Statement To Further Explain The Situation

A statement on behalf of Starr and his band explained the situation: “Ringo has come down with a cold and after consulting a doctor he was advised to cancel these two remaining shows and get rest,” a statement said. “As always, Ringo and the All Starrs send peace and love to their fans and hope to see them soon.”

Despite the disappointment, Starr and his band conveyed their gratitude to fans, saying, “As always, Ringo and the All Starrs send peace and love to their fans and hope to see them soon.”

The postponed performances were originally slated for Wednesday, September 25, at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, and Tuesday, September 24 at the TD Pavilion at The Mann in Philadelphia.

To promote his most recent solo EP, Crooked Perry, a collaboration with composer Linda Perry, Starr had been touring all throughout North America. Niagara Falls, Medford, and San Diego were among the places he performed throughout his tour.

Starr’s Historical Legacy and Support From Fans

The 84-year-old former Beatles drummer is well-known for his lead vocal work on songs including “Yellow Submarine,” “Octopus’s Garden,” and “With a Little Help From My Friends.” During this tour, Starr’s ever-changing All Starr Band—which now includes musicians like Steve Lukather, Colin Hay, and Warren Ham—performed a mix of solo songs, covers, and Beatles hits.

Fans expressed their support for Starr on social media despite the last-minute cancellations. Many commented on his official Instagram page, with one fan stating, “I’m sad we don’t get to see him tonight, but first and foremost, we just want him to be healthy and happy! Get well soon, Ringo.” Another fan echoed the sentiment, “I’m so disappointed but your health comes first. Will always love you.”

Starr’s most recent work, the Crooked Perry EP, released earlier this year, has received acclaim and continues his collaboration with Linda Perry, who produced and wrote for the project. The EP provided much of the material for this tour, which had started earlier this month.

As fans await news of potential rescheduled dates, the message from Starr and the band remains hopeful: “Peace and love to all,” a sentiment that has been a hallmark of the artist’s career both with The Beatles and beyond.
