Robert Downey Jr. Gets Creatively Inspired After Watching ‘The Matrix’

Hollywood news and updates tease that Robert Downey Jr. desired to have a blockbuster film after seeing the success of “The Matrix.”

Robert Downey Jr. is one of the most flourishing actors in Hollywood, playing some iconic characters in his past movies, but he was at his peak of success when he started to portray the role of Tony Stark, also known as Iron Man.

Downey has been facing a lot of controversies and scandals during his early days in the industry, which extremely affected his career. However, when director Jon Favreau started to believe in him, the 57-year-old actor slowly got back on track. “It was my job as a director to show that it was the best choice creatively… and now the Marvel Universe is the biggest franchise in the film industry,” Favreau once told 100.3 Jack FM.

Before “Iron Man” became a blockbuster movie, Downey already dreamed to have a successful movie since the day he watched Keanu Reeves’ “The Matrix” as he saw how the project brought the actor into such a triumphant place in the film industry.

“When Tobey Maguire and I were doing “Wonder Boys,” we went to see “The Matrix,” and that was a big deal,” Downey said as documented by Showbiz Cheat Sheet. “I’ve known Keanu for ages. I watched the whole thing happen for him,” he continued. The MCU star got more determined when he saw how his friends like Maguire succeeded in “Spider Man” as well as Johnny Depp in “Pirates of the Caribbean.”

When “Iron Man” became one of the most beloved movies of all time, Downey admitted that he enjoyed the success, especially in doing the craft. “I think, for the most part, I really enjoy it. Everyone I talk to is really cool and nice, and not subversive or trying to do something kind of crappy. My faith in humanity and my faith in creativity prevails,” he uttered.

In other news, when it was announced that Johnny Depp won the trial against his ex-wife, Amber Heard, a few of his close friends called him over the phone to congratulate the actor. According to Depp’s close friend, Josh Richman, the “Iron Man” star, Robert Downey Jr. facetimed his old pal to celebrate with him. “John, thank God, it’s over,” Downey told Depp.
