Poignantly named, “Happy,” the “Oppenheimer” award winning star is hoping to bring coffee that’s responsibly and sustainably sourced, so that every morning you feel refreshed and strong, there’ll be no guilt to bring you down.

Robert Downey Jr On Why He’s Launching “Consistent” and “Legal” Happy Coffee

Robert Downey Jr is bringing coffee that’s as good for the environment as it is for you with the help of co-founder Craig Dubitsky, who is both an entrepreneur and an investor involved in other household products employing a modern approach to design and manufacturing. His businesses include Method cleaning products, Eos lip and skin-care, and Hello oral care.

Happy Coffee launched earlier this week and is available to order online and at Target and Sprouts grocery stores with 100 percent arabica coffee in light, medium and dark roasts.

With prices ranging from from $9.99 for instant coffee and 10-pod packs to $12.99 for a 12-ounce box of ground or whole beans, you can order from a range of flavors.

“Coffee is a perfect substance. It is magical, consistent and legal,” Downey shared with The Hollywood Reporter in a statement. “It was my mom’s beverage of choice, and I followed in her footsteps. I associate coffee with family, fellowship, ‘going the extra mile and une raison d’être.

Speaking of a “magical” substance that’s legal kind of takes us back to a time in Downey’s life that’s defined by substance abuse and alcohol addiction. However, he’s been sober in recent times, even though he did describe his one year stint in prison in 1999 as “the worst thing that happened to me.”

Robert Downey Jr’s Happy Coffee Wants To Build A Brand That’s Happy and Green

Downey Jr has been displaying a keen passion for preserving the environment and this shines through in his latest venture Happy Coffee.

Happy works with the world’s largest vertically integrated coffee roaster to produce its responsibly grown and sustainably sourced coffee. Their roasters work with Rainforest Alliance-certified farms and each package comes with a code that lets buyers track who grew, harvested and roasted their beans.

Apart from their dedication to the environment, the company also partners with the National Alliance on Mental Illness to aid advocacy, education, support and public awareness of people and families affected by mental health conditions.

The brand believes that “Coffee is supposed to simply be something delicious we love and enjoy.”
