Rosie O’Donnell Updates Madonna’s Fans On The Singer’s Health

Late last month, on Wednesday, June 28, Guy Oseary the long manager of the “Material Girl” singer Madonna made a shocking announcement about the singer’s health, telling Madonna’s fans that, “Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection.” Guy’s Instagram statement reads, “On Saturday June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which [led] to a several day stay in the ICU. Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected.”

Guy further said, “At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour. We will share more details with you soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.” On Sunday, July 2, comedian and long-time friend of Madonna shared an update on the “Hung Up” singer’s health.

The 61-year-old comedian posted a throwback photo of her and Madonna in the 1992 film, “A League of Their Own,” on her Instagram account with the caption, “Remember when? #league #mo.”

In the movie, the now 64-year-old Madonna played the character Mae Mordabito, a dancer, while Rosie played Doris Murphy, Mordabito’s best friend.

Her post triggered a lot of Madonna’s fans who wanted to know the singer’s current health status following her sudden health scare. Answering one of the fans, Rosie said, “She is recovering at home — she is very strong in general.”

Rosie’s reply promoted another fan to say, “God bless her hope she’s ok, I don’t care about the tour.” The former talk show host replied the commenter with, “She’s good.”

“Madonna: The Celebration Tour” which is in celebration of her 40-year musical career which was scheduled to start ok July 15 in Vancouver, Canada.

Early this week, a source close to the ” La Isla Bonita” singer told PEOPLE that Madonna “Ignored some symptoms of illness for quite a while because she thought they would go away. But she didn’t want to take time away from rehearsals.”

The same source also said, “She was rundown and not feeling 100 percent for a while in anticipation of her tour. She is relentless in her quest to be the best, to wow her fans and to do what others before her have not done.”

A different source told the outlet that, “Madonna has been very busy for a long time and not taking care of herself. She just continues to push herself beyond the limit.”

Four days before Madonna’s hospitalization, Madonna posted behind-the-scenes photos of herself preparing for the tour on her Instagram account, “The Calm Before The Storm………”
