Rust Shooting News – Alec Baldwin Maintains He Never Pulled Trigger

Rust shooting news reveals that, according to PEOPLE, a year after the incident, Hilaria Baldwin is claiming that her husband is still struggling. The author and teacher, 38, told Extra that the shooting – when Alec, 64, discharged a prop gun that killed 42-year-old Hutchins on the set of his Western movie ‘Rust,’ – weighs heavy on her family.

Director Joel Souza was also wounded by the weapon. Alec Baldwin still maintains that he never even pulled the trigger on the prop gun that mysteriously contained a live round on that fateful day.

Hilaria Baldwin – Claims Family Still Suffers from Nightmares

“I worry about him,” Hilaria told the outlet, “… I mean, can you imagine? Nobody can. There was so much confusion to understand what happened.” She continued, explaining that “when you go through something hard; you know that not every day is going to be the same.”

She said that there are moments in their day that are “very hard” emphasizing the nights. “Nightmares are hard. So, I’m just there, and I say, ‘I’m here and I’m going to take care of you,’ and I said that from the moment we realized what had happened.”

She also told the outlet,

“We’re not okay. We can’t be okay. No one is okay. It was, and is, a tragedy that nobody could ever have imagined. I mean, the loss of her, Halyna. Her son, a little son, her family, her co-workers, the people who loved her, her fans. I mean, she was an incredible, incredible woman in so many different ways.”

Settlement Breathes New Life Into ‘Rust’

In October of this year, Hutchin’s husband, Matthew, who shares a son, Andros, with Hutchins, settled a wrongful death suit against Alec and other ‘Rust’ producers. Along with paying the settlement, the group agreed to complete the movie with Matthew as an executive producer.

“I have no interest in engaging in recriminations or attribution of blame,” Matthew said in the statement about the settlement, adding, “ All of us believe Halyna’s death was a terrible accident. I am grateful that the producers and the entertainment community have come together to pay tribute to Halyna’s final work.”

Not long after that, Alec took to Instagram to discuss the settlement and moving on with the film.

“Throughout this difficult process, everyone has maintained the specific desire to do what is best for Halyna’s son. We are grateful to everyone who contributed to the resolution of this tragic and painful situation.”
