Ryan Reynolds Believes Shania Twain Kept Him Calm During People’s Choice Awards

Hollywood news and updates tease that Ryan Reynolds acknowledged Shania Twain for the successful delivery of his speech during the People’s Choice Awards.

Ryan Reynolds first appeared onscreen when he played the role of Billy Simpson in Nickelodeon’s teen drama television series titled “Fifteen.” Following the huge success of the sitcom “Two Guys and a Girl,” the actor starred in some blockbuster movies, including the romcom, “The Proposal,” where he worked with Sandra Bullock.

Reynolds also received several acting recognitions, such as Best Actor in a Comedy for his movie “Deadpool” and Best Comedic Performance for “Free Guy.” Last 2011, the 46-year-old actor started dating Blake Lively after they met on the set of “Green Lantern.” In the following year, the two tied a knot and shared three children.

During the recent People’s Choice Awards, Shania Twain performed her song “That Don’t Impress Me Much.” Everyone was stunned when the popular singer changed the lyrics to Reynolds’ name instead of Brad Pitt’s. When asked about his thoughts regarding Twain’s performance, Ryan Reynolds revealed that it truly helped him when he had his acceptance speech.

“I was not expecting that because I – like a lot of people – get very nervous when I publicly speak,” the 46-year-old actor told Derek Monias of Sandy Lake First Nation. He also admitted that the singer “took the tension out of his body” when he called out his name. As a result, the actor was able to deliver his heartfelt speech perfectly and free himself from embarrassment.

“So then I went up and gave my little speech and it went better than I thought, so sort of, in a weird way, I have to thank Shania Twain for that,” he continued.

Moreover, Ryan Reynolds acknowledged his whole family after receiving the Icon Award. In his speech, after he expressed his gratitude to his mom, Tammy, and his three brothers, the “Detective Pikachu” star honored his late father. According to Reynolds, his dad would possibly be impressed with his granddaughters.

As soon to be a father-of-four, the Hollywood star swooned over their upcoming fourth child. Despite his sarcastic-filled statements for his family, Reynolds never ceased to express his love to his wife and children. “Blake and my girls, you are quite literally my heart, my hope, my happiness. I joke that my family exhausts me, but in reality, you give me more strength than any man could possibly deserve,” he stated.
