Ryan Reynolds Jokes Hugh Jackman “Duped” Him After Crashing His NYC Concert

Ryan Reynolds Jokes Hugh Jackman “Duped” Him After Crashing His NYC ConcertThe friendly banter between ‘Deadpool’ co-stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman does not look to be nearing a conclusion anytime soon.

Jackman was so ready to kick his Radio City Music Hall residency into high gear, but Reynolds had to be there looking for a ‘Les Miserables’ act. The cheek, right?

Ryan Reynolds Reveals Real Reason He Crashed Hugh Jackman’s Residency

It was Friday night and everything was going great out on the floor. Well, until the ‘Greatest Showman’ star opened the floor for audience questions, and surprise, his old frenemy Ryan Reynolds popped up onstage with a microphone.

“Hello, Hugh, it’s Ryan,” Reynolds announced.

“You have a microphone!” A none-too-happy Jackman replied.
“You can just bring one of these!” Reynolds joked. “I’ll lend you mine in a minute.”

But that wasn’t all the poking he did whilst he shared the floor – and the mic! – with Jackman. “I was told this was going to be a comedy version of Les Mis as a one-man show,” he said, after admiring the stage set up for Jackman’s ‘From New York With Love’ at the historic concert stage, and probably finding it lacking.

He jibed, “We all said it was a terrible idea, but he carried on. I see he’s duped me once again.”

Reynolds then took on the self-appointed role of moving through the crowd and taking questions from the audience for what is called, “Hugh and A.” At the end of the round, he actually surprised the crowd by only having good things to say about Jackman, despite the prior ribbing.

Recalling how they met on the set of their first collaboration, 2009’s ‘X-Men Origins,’ Reynolds said, “This was the first major movie star I ever worked with, 16 or 17 years ago. Going to this movie set with this guy right here, and I really didn’t know what was gonna happen … But what I saw was just about the best thing anyone could possibly experience if you’re working your way up in the industry.”

He added: “I saw a movie star, a capital M movie star … I saw this gentleman right here walk around that set, and just like here, he knew every single person’s name, even though he was making them up half the time,” the actor said. “He showed a kind of courtesy and gentleness and curiosity, and he put value into every single crew member that we were working with.”

“I know we were supposed to finish this bit where these two security gentlemen come and they try to take the mic from me, there’s like a struggle, and then they tase me, and I go down, and then they hogtie me, and they put me in the Radio City Music garbage dump, and then they just light it on fire,” he quipped. “But I wanted to actually just say: I love this man. I care about this man. He is genuinely the best human being I know — and I have four children! He is the best. Enjoy the rest of the show. You owe me a hundred bucks.”
