Ryan Reynolds Says He’d Love to Host the Oscars But Is Too Busy At the Moment
To be able to even be allowed to host the Oscars, you have to be funny enough. And Ryan Reynolds is standing by his capabilities as a guy gifted with a prominent funny bone.
Straight off from the success of ‘Deadpool and Wolverine,’ Reynolds refuses to slow down, even though he’s become more concentrated on making time for his wife and four children. Already, he’s working on a marvelous script that will see him reunite with Hugh Jackman.
When asked if he could take time off his busy schedule to host the Oscars, he replied that he’s flattered about the opportunity but buried in his work commitments.
“It would be a dream to do it one day,” he says. “But I’m writing a movie for myself, Hugh [Jackman] and Shawn [Levy] to do that is not Marvel. That’s it.”
Even though he’s not going to be hosting this year, he did say he wishes comedies will receive the attention they deserve at this year’s ceremonies and future ones. One of the biggest snub at the Academy Awards? “One of the greatest, most, greatest injustices is that Eddie Murphy doesn’t have an Oscar for ‘The Nutty Professor’”
Ryan Reynolds’ Cheeky Response To Martha Stewart’s Statement About His Comedy
Reynolds’ appearance on the Awards Circuit Podcast is coming after Martha Stewart blasted the ‘Green Lantern’ star as not being all that funny in real life. She admitted that he’s funny in the movies, but not in real life.
Reynolds reacted at the time, writing, “I’d disagree with her. But I tried that once. The woman is unexpectedly spry. She really closed the gap after a mile or so.”
