Sammy Hager Blasts David Lee Roth For Nasty Comments About Eddie Van Halen’s Son Wolfie

Grab your popcorn, we’re about to see someone expose someone else’s “jealousy” – or is it someone else expose someone’s jealousy? Anywho, whichever it is, just know that Sammy Hager thinks David Lee Roth is a “jealous” person.

It’s not even Saturday and already a major drama is brewing. I’ll like to take this time to note that Alyssa Milano and Shannen Doherty’s latest spat ain’t got nothing on this.

Sammy Hager – Rebukes David Lee Roth For Saying Eddie Van Halen’s Son Wolfgang Van Halen Benefited From Nepotism

The rockstar and the son of the late Eddie Van Halen were both listed among the performers at a MusiCares event that will be held on behalf of Jon Bon Jovi.

Ahead of the Musicares Person of the Year ceremony and concert at Los Angeles, Hager, 76, revealed his opinion on the criticisms Roth, 69, heaped on Wolfgang Van Halen, 32, who played alongside his father in Van Halen from the time he was 15 in 2006 to 2020.

The rock and roll hall of famer described Roth’s criticisms, which he aired out in a viral YouTube video, as all coming down to one emotion: jealousy.

“Look, if you really think about what he said, it’s like do I sense a little tinge of jealousy in there or something?” Hager said. “Does he feel like he’s left out or something?”

He added, “I mean, honestly, the only thing I can say without being cruel is he needs to find a new dispensary. That one’s not working for him.”

In late January, Roth shared his thoughts on the bass player and only son to Eddie and actress Valerie Bertinelli in a video rant, and they were not favorable ones.

In the YouTube clip, Roth contemptuously slammed Wolfgang for allegedly not giving him the time of day when they toured together. He went on to claim that the young man once threw out a woman — whom he thought was Roth’s girlfriend but was actually an accountant in charge of their tour’s payroll — at one of their shows.

He went on to say that any greatness the boy enjoyed all came down to nepotism. He later talked about the video on Instagram, captioning it, “this f–in kid.”

When he rejoined the iconic group in 2007. He stayed on until they finally disbanded in 2020 following the death of the lead guitarist at 65 after a years-long battle with cancer.

Despite the fact that Hager had exited the “jump” band before Wolfgang came onboard, he revealed that he was close to the boy and has been in contact with him over the years.

The duo will get to reconnect when they perform at Saturday’s MusiCares event and no doubt a certain someone may be mentioned in their convos.
