Sean Diddy Combs Willingly Withdraws Bail Appeal Following New Jay-Z Scandal

Prior to voluntarily dismissing bail on Friday, Dec. 13, Sean Diddy Combs‘ had already been denied bail three times.

Here’s every new development from the rapper’s ongoing case. It has been confirmed that Sean Diddy Combs will remain in jail until May 2025 after he voluntarily withdrew his latest attempt at bail in new court documents obtained by PEOPLE.

The first time he was denied bail was on Sept. 17; a day after he was arrested in a Manhattan hotel room on federal sex crime charges.

On Sept. 18, a different judge denied his request at bail, citing concerns of witness tampering. It took a while for him to appeal again, but on Nov. 27, his appeal was once again rejected.

During the Wednesday, Nov. 27 ruling, federal judge Arun Subramanian of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York noted that Combs can’t be granted bail on the grounds that he is a danger to the community. The seriousness of the violent crimes he has been charged with were also cited as a cause.

However, Combs has chosen to withdraw his fourth appeal and wait until the legal proceedings officially kick off on May 5, 2025. The rapper has been in jail since his September arrest on charges of sex trafficking by force, transportation to engage in prostitution and racketeering conspiracy.

Combs is also being accused of being a ringleader of a “criminal enterprise” that allowed him and close associates to sexually, physically, emotionally and verbally abuse his victims for years.

Combs is also being investigated for narcotics offenses, arson, bribery, kidnapping, forced labor and other offenses. About a hundred or so men and women have come forward to accuse Combs of rape and several other sexual crimes.

Combs’ legal team continues to maintain that the accusations are “shameless publicity stunts, designed to extract payments from celebrities who fear having lies spread about them.”

Jay-Z has also been accused of being one of these “close associates,” as a new Jane Doe alleged that the “99 Problems” rapper joined Combs to rape her at 13. Jay-Z strongly denied these accusations, calling on the girl’s attorney to upgrade the suit from a civil to a criminal one.
