Selena Gomez Responds To Rumors About Benny Blanco’s Engagement

Selena Gomez and her boyfriend, music producer Benny Blanco, have discovered a special connection but are not in a rush to marry. Despite the rising suspicion, the couple appears pleased with their relationship as it stands.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, published on September 9, Selena addressed the rumors of a potential engagement. “We always make sure we’re protecting what we have, but there’s no rules,” she explained. “I want him to always be himself. I always want to be myself.”

More Details About The Engagement Speculations

The engagement speculations began after Selena shared an Instagram Story on August 8 with a heart emoji covering her ring finger. However, she appeared at the season 4 premiere of Only Murders in the Building on August 22 without a ring, appearing to disprove the claims.

While they may not be rushing toward marriage, Selena and Benny are open about their deep commitment to each other. Benny even commented on the possibility of marriage during a May interview with Howard Stern, saying, “You and me both,” after the host predicted wedding bells for the couple. Selena also opened up about their shared hopes for the future, especially regarding family.

Selena’s Health Complication

In the same Vanity Fair feature, Gomez revealed her inability to carry children due to health complications, sharing this information for the first time. “I haven’t ever said this, but I unfortunately can’t carry my own children. I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s in jeopardy. That was something I had to grieve for a while.”

Though the news was difficult to accept initially, Selena has since found peace. “It’s not necessarily the way I envisioned it. I thought it would happen the way it happens for everyone. [But] I’m in a much better place with that. I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me.”

Journey To Motherhood And Starting A Family

Selena is optimistic about her journey to motherhood, regardless of the alternative methods she may have to pursue.

“I’m excited for what that journey will look like, but it’ll look a little different,” Selena shared. “At the end of the day, I don’t care. It’ll be mine. It’ll be my baby.”

Benny, too, is enthusiastic about the idea of starting a family. Following his comment on Stern’s show that having children is “the next goal on the box,” Selena humorously remarked to Vanity Fair, “He can’t lie. After the interview, I was dying laughing. Like, ‘Anything else you wanted to put out there?’”

Selena’s Sweet Comments on Her Relationship With Benny

Despite the challenges, Selena appreciates the light that Benny has brought into her life. “I’ve never been loved this way,” she said, reflecting on their bond. “He’s just been a light. A complete light in my life. He’s my best friend. I love telling him everything.”

The couple, who have been romantically linked since late 2023, first collaborated musically before their relationship became public. While engagement rumors persist, Selena and Benny remain focused on protecting their love without the pressure of rushing into marriage.
