Sharon Osbourne Explains Why Nobody Will Employ Her In US Now

The media personality Sharon Osbourne was the first participant to show up in the “Celebrity Big Brother” house which means that she’ll only get to be in the house for one week out of the show’s three weeks duration.

Upon arrival, she has already made waves with her presence, nominations, and talks of dislike. To be more clear, she put Gary Goldsmith up for possible eviction, and declared her dislike of the actor James Corden.

Sharon may be on the show for just one week but be rest assured it’s going to be a long week. On March 7, during a conversation with her fellow housemates and participants Louis Walsh and Lauren Simon, the former “X Factor” judge revealed that she “got banned in America.” The revelation prompted Louis to scream, “She did nothing wrong, nothing!”

Lauren then enquired, “Can you not work in American TV now?” To which Sharon answered, “I can legally but nobody will employ me, because they say I’m racist.” Sharon’s “racist” remark referred to the controversial 2021 argument she had on-air with a co-host back when she worked with “The Talk.”

Sharon’s response prompted Lauren to ask, “How can you be racist?” Pointing out that it’s impossible for Sharon to be racist because she’s Jewish. Sharon immediately reacted, “I know! They think we don’t know what it’s like to be picked on, I wouldn’t pick on anyone because of their race or religion ever.”

Sharon Osbourne — The Story Behind Sharon’s ‘Racist’ Remarks

Sharon co-hosted the CBS daytime show “The Talk” since its launch in 2010. It happened that Sharon, 71, defended her friend Piers Morgan’s controversial input on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey. Sharon’s support for Piers on-air turned into a serious argument between her and co-host Sheryl Underwood.

Amid the heated exchange, Sheryl, 60, told Sharon, “The fact that you don’t even want to take into consideration that [Meghan Markle’s] desire to want to end her own life is connected to her race, that dismissal makes it a racist situation.”

Although Sharon later apologized for her actions after “being accused of being racist,” CBS took up the matter for review and afterward released a statement saying, “The events of the March 10 broadcast were upsetting to everyone involved, including the audience watching at home. As part of our review, we concluded that Sharon’s behavior toward her co-hosts during the March 10 episode did not align with our values for a respectful workplace.”

“We also did not find any evidence that CBS executives orchestrated the discussion or blindsided any of the hosts.

At the same time, we acknowledge the Network and Studio teams, as well as the showrunners, are accountable for what happened during that broadcast as it was clear the co-hosts were not properly prepared by the staff for a complex and sensitive discussion involving race.”
