Concerns were raised for Sharon Stone, the 66-year-old “Basic Instinct” actress after she posted a photo showing a bruise around her left eye on Instagram. The picture, taken in an elevator in Turkey, prompted many fans to express their worries about her wellbeing.
“This trip has been tough; but I’m tougher,” Stone captioned her post.
In response to the comments, Stone shared a video on Thursday explaining the cause of her injury.
“I’ve been in so many hotels in so many countries that I got up in the middle of the night to pee and didn’t know where I was, and smacked my face on the marble,” Stone explained.
Sharon Assured – Her Fans ‘It’s Getting Better’
She assured her fans that no one had harmed her and that she was doing fine and enjoying her travels. “I’m being welcomed very beautifully on my trip everywhere that I’ve gone. I’m having just the greatest time,” she added.
Stone then removed her sunglasses to show her black eye, saying, “It’s getting better, but it really is a good-looking shiner. You should see what I did to that marble floor. Thanks so much for caring about me, I care about you, too.”
Her video was captioned, “Black Eye update Thank you all for your kind messages.”
Sharon’s Fan Reactions

After Stone’s explanation, her fans were relieved. “Okay I was ready to go find the culprit. Glad it was not a person who did that to your eye!!!” one fan commented.

Sharon’s Reflection on Her Past
In a recent interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Stone reflected on her near-fatal stroke in 2001, revealing that she lost $18 million while recovering, but has since moved past the experience.
“I decided not to hang onto being sick or to any bitterness or anger,” she said. “If you bite into the seed of bitterness, it never leaves you. But if you hold faith, even if that faith is the size of a mustard seed, you will survive. So, I live for joy now. I live for purpose.”
