Sherri Shepherd Expresses Gratitude To Wendy Williams

Hollywood news and updates tease that Sherri Shepherd gave thanks to Wendy Williams for opening doors for her as she will soon land a talk show of her own this coming fall of 2022.

Sherri Shepherd became a guest host of The Wendy Williams Show when the original host Wendy Williams took medical leave due to some complications of her health condition, including Graves’ Disease.

Last February 2022, the production made a decision to end the daytime talk show after 14 years on air, which will be taken over by Sherri Shepherd’s daytime series. Howard Bragman, Williams’ representative shared a statement to the show stating that the 57-year-old host understood the settlement.

“She, more than anyone, understands the reality of syndicated television – you can’t go to the marketplace and sell a show that’s ‘Maybe Wendy Show,’” he said.

However, Wendy Williams was assured by the television programming distributor, Debmar-Mercury, that the door will always be open for her anytime she wants to do hosting again once her health is in better condition.

Though Shepherd hasn’t spoken to Williams yet following the news of her upcoming talk show, she was open with the idea of making Williams one of her future guests. She also shared her gladness that Williams trusted her to handle the show. “I am glad that she trusted me when they asked if I could come in and trusted that I could do it,” Shepherd said.

The mother-of-two also expressed her gratitude to Williams for letting her enjoy the show while she is still focusing on her health. “I’m thankful because if it wasn’t for Wendy, the eyes wouldn’t have been on me. I’m so thankful to her. We’re all praying for her,” Shepherd told Deadline.

While waiting for her upcoming show, Shepherd shared on her Instagram account how standup comedy led her way to Hollywood. She stated her journey towards success and thanked her job for turning her dreams into reality. She wrote, “Thank you, standup comedy, for comforting me through the ups and downs, and making so many dreams come true!”

Her fans and friends got inspired by her story and filled the comment section with loving words. One fan commented, “Go, Ms. Sherri. God will continue to open doors for you. It’s your season, queen!” Another one chimed in, “Absolutely wonderful! Thank you for the inspiration, Sherri. We love you!”
