Now that Pat Sajak has officially announced that he is retiring from his job as the host of Wheel of Fortune, there’s a lot of speculation that suggests a very familiar face might replace him very soon. According to reports, rumor has it that Ryan has been in contact with the producers of Wheel of Fortune about possibly hosting the show.
Not only that, but there are also strong rumors suggesting that he might be the frontrunner for the position as well even though there are a lot of television personalities that are clearly interested in the job.
Needless to say, it didn’t take long at all for both fans and critics to weigh in on the matter. Many of them have taken to social media to share comments such as, “NOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Doesn’t anyone want to do any work to find new talent?
Pat and Vanna were unknowns in the early 80s. This is sloppy and lazy casting. Doesn’t the man have enough money already?? Why is Seacrest always the go-to guy for every hosting job?” along with, “Why?!

Why not someone new rather than the person who hosts so many shows already. Find new talent. I’m guessing because they have to find someone who appeals to the really old audience that watches (which he does from his Kelly & Ryan days) and appeals to younger viewers which he does from his American Idol work.”

Another critic wrote, “After Pat retires, just narrow the search to 5-10 people and have tryouts onscreen and let the audience decide. Give someone else a job! How many jobs does Seacrest need?? That said, I knew that Vanna White would be passed up for a man.”
