Simone Biles Has This To Say To Critics Over Husband Jonathan Owens’ Comments

Simone Biles is seemingly telling her critics to cry her a river for all she cares. After the Olympic gold medalist’s husband Jonathan Owens came under fire for saying he was “the catch” in their relationship, Simone’s fans saw the statement as an insult and immediately swung into action by blasting him on different social media platforms.

However, Simone didn’t appreciate that her fans were trying to defend her, so few days after the incident, she took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share a meme of a confused-looking child scratching their head, and questioned her followers with her caption, “Are Y’all Done Yet?’

The four-time Olympic gold medalist and the Greenbay Packers safety made a joint appearance on “The Pivot” podcast, hosted by Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor, and Channing Crowder on Thursday. There, co-host Channing Crowder asked Jonathan “How in the hell did you pull Simone Biles?”

The NFL player replied, “It’s really how she pulled me, man, that’s the question.” He went on to share that Simone, 26, was the first to slide into his DMs on the dating app Raya. He also said that prior to the conversation, he had never heard of the Olympic gymnast, ever.

“When she won the Olympics, I was in college and we didn’t have NBC, we didn’t have Olympics channels, and we were in [training] camp [in] late July, early August,” he continued, “So I’m not paying attention. I never would’ve had a moment where I would’ve watched [her compete].”

Channing went on to ask the 28-year-old whether he felt he was the “catch” in the relationship, and he replied, “I always say that the men are the catch.” He further shared that at the initial stage of their relationship, he was “afraid to commit” because of where he was in life at the time, adding, “I’m like, ‘It’s kinda early.’ But you know, it happens when you least expect it. When we hung out, we just hit it off instantly. Laughed the whole night.”

Someone shared a video of the interview on Instagram and they quickly rushed into the comments section to blast Jonathan. One person wrote, “This is really odd that you would degrade your wife like this on a public platform,” another added, “You will forever be known as Simone Biles’ husband. You’re not the catch lmao.”

Some of her fans on TikTok also used the platform to trash talk Jonathan, someone said, “I, like many others, am mortified by Simone Biles’ husband’s behavior,” and a second wrote, “When I first saw the podcast, I was like, ‘who the fuck is this guy?’” The same person said she refuses to look him up, repeating the popular sentiment, “That’s Simone Biles’ husband for the rest of his life…hopefully ex-husband.”

Meanwhile, seeing how much traction the clip gained, Jonathan shared series of a pictures from their May 2023 destination wedding on Instagram with the caption, “Unbothered ❤️ Just know we locked in over here .” And Simond took to the comments section to add, “for life.”
