Jason Momoa – Plays A Fun Mystical Dream Creature In Upcoming Movie
In the first trailer for Netflix’s “Slumberland”, the 43-year-old actor takes viewers on a magical, and sometimes hilarious, treasure hunt adventure in the “world of dreams” while helping to reunite young Nema with her late father.
“Welcome to my world, kid! Slumberland, the world of dreams,” he says to her as they embark on a search for a treasure that will grant the holder the power to “wish for whatever you want here in Slumberland.”
To Nema, finding the treasure means she could be able to see her late dad, Nemo, again.
Previously, Nema was sent to live with her uncle after her father drowned on a stormy night. There, she learned to cope with the loss by escaping to her dreams.
Jason Momoa – Says His Kids Keep Him Young As He Introduces His Latest Movie “Slumberland” To the World
Netflix’s “Slumberland” must be very emotional if it made the “Justice League” star actually tear up in front of his kids.
Speaking about how he got into the mindset to play the super fun fantastical character, Jason Momoa said he drew inspiration from watching his kids.
He also added that it was very special to get to watch the movie for the first time with his family. “I’ve got to tell you, to play in this role really unlocked a lot of things for me,” he said. “I actually got to watch it with my children yesterday and with Marlow and her family. It’s weird when you tear up watching your own stuff.”
“It blew me away, and I just was so emotional. This role just let me really be free, and the character is so fun,” Momoa added.
To be able to make his character something the kids can enjoy, he revealed he had to tap into his inner child.
“I became an actor. I can’t get out of it. I’m trying to be adult as possible. But the truth of it is, I just love to play, and it’s fun to be creative and use your imagination,” he explained.
“My kids keep me young, and doing the things you love to do, just playing,” Momoa said of his kids: daughter Lola Iolani, 15, and 13½-year-old son Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo.
“Slumberland” will be available on Netflix starting Nov. 18.
