Plaintiff Worried For Her Job Security

Though his rap sheet is somewhat extensive, it’s worth noting that the screenwriter hasn’t been in a courtroom since 2007 when he was sentenced to five years of probation on drug and gun charges. Per Us Weekly, the lawsuit was filed on Wednesday, days before the Death Row Records mogul is set to perform at the Superbowl halftime show set for Sunday, February 14.

A spokesperson for Snoop Dogg called the suit a “self enrichment shakedown scheme” to extort the rapper “right before he performs during this Sunday’s Super Bowl half-time show.” According to the complaint, the woman, who worked for the record producer at the time, “found herself thinking about her job security if she displeased Defendant Snoop Dogg,” adding that she, “felt pressured by defendant Snoop Dogg due to his dominance, and his position of power over her.”

Snoop’s spokesperson spoke to some extent about what they considered a “scheme” saying that it was first launched “through a filing with similar baseless accusations made by the same plaintiff, using her full name, in December 2021 with the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing.

Most probably, given concern about her own history of questionable conduct, she then shifted to an anonymous ‘Jane Doe’ plaintiff and filed this complaint late Wednesday, only three days before the Super Bowl, knowing full well the filing can be a public document.” They went on to say that the eight-year-old occurrence in question was made up.

Snoop’s Spokesperson Claims Suit ‘Does A Disservice To Real Victims’

The spokesperson went on to emphasize that Snoop Dogg had never even had “any sexual encounter whatsoever” with the “Jane Doe,” calling the scheme “disgraceful.” In an attempt to point out what he seemed to see as the real problem, the spokesperson said that using the court system to advance the “scheme” was shameful and “does a disservice to real victims who deserve to be believed.”
