Snoop Dogg’s Message to Critics
In a video posted on Sunday, the 53-year-old artist appeared calm and reflective as he listened to The Winans’ song Ain’t No Need to Worry while addressing his followers.
“For all the hate, I’m gonna answer it with love,” he said. “Y’all can’t hate enough on me. I love too much.”
Snoop continued, urging detractors to focus on their own lives rather than his decisions. “Get your life right. Stop worrying about mine. I’m cool. I’m together. Still a Black man. Still 100% Black.”
He later added, “You can be up one minute, and they’ll try to pull you down the next. But I’m a strong Black man. I’m cut from a different cloth. Can’t tear me down.”
Although he did not explicitly reference the backlash over his performance, fans quickly connected the dots, flooding his post with reactions. While some expressed disappointment, others defended his right to perform where he pleased. One critic wrote, “Lost all respect,” while another supporter countered, “He can perform for whoever he wants—leave him alone.”

The Inaugural Crypto Ball: A Shift in Stance?
Many were taken aback by Snoop Dogg‘s attendance at the Crypto Ball, which was hosted in the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C., just a few days prior to Trump’s inauguration.
Described as a celebration of America’s “first crypto president,” Trump fans and prominent figures from the bitcoin business attended the event. Although Trump himself was not present, his administration’s crypto czar, David Sacks, served as emcee
The backlash was particularly strong because Snoop had previously been an outspoken critic of Trump. In 2017, he infamously depicted himself shooting a clown dressed as Trump in the music video for Lavender (Nightfall Remix).
That same year, he released the song M.A.C.A (Make America Crip Again) with lyrics directly criticizing Trump. In 2020, he stated in an interview with Real 92.3 that he was voting “because I can’t stand to see this punk in office one more year.”

However, in a 2024 interview with The Sunday Times, Snoop expressed a dramatically different perspective, saying, “I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump.”
In all, fans are split on Snoop Dogg’s seeming change in attitude about Trump. While some regard it as a practical choice or a sign of personal development, others perceive his performance as a betrayal of his prior advocacy.
In any case, his point is still very clear: he will keep going forward according to his own terms and will not allow himself to be defined by the expectations of others.
