In a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! (Jan. 13 episode), Snoop Dogg shared an unexpected encounter with music legend Paul McCartney. The rapper, 53, expressed his amazement at learning the 82-year-old Beatle was a fan of his work.
“He wanted to meet me, and I thought, ‘This is wild! I want to meet Paul McCartney,’” Snoop recounted. “They said, ‘Sir Paul would like to meet you.’ I was like, ‘For real? Bring him over!’”
A Meeting full of Administration
Their meeting turned into a conversation full of admiration. “It was all about respect and love,” Snoop recalled. “He really knew who I was musically, and that blew my mind. I was telling him about the records of his that I liked, and he was telling me about how he liked my work. It was pure appreciation — mutual love, fan appreciation.”
While McCartney didn’t indulge in marijuana, Snoop admitted he smoked around the “Hey Jude” artist. However, their interaction was cut short by another Hollywood star. “Woody Harrelson came over and totally took over the moment,” Snoop said. “Paul was like, ‘I’ll catch up with you later,’ and I was left thinking, ‘Man, Woody, I was having a moment!’” Despite the interruption, Snoop clearly cherished the experience of meeting McCartney.
Supporting Wildfire Victims in Los Angeles
During the interview, Snoop also addressed the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, which have caused significant destruction and claimed 24 lives since Jan. 7.
The rapper expressed his concern for those affected by the natural disaster and emphasized the importance of helping out in times of crisis.
The rapper hinted at organizing a benefit performance to aid those affected. “There’s been talk about holding concerts to raise funds for the victims,” he explained. “I’d lean toward doing a concert without being paid, donating the proceeds from ticket sales to ensure the people get support.”
Snoop emphasized the importance of taking actionable steps to provide relief for those who have lost so much in the disaster.
Meanwhile, Snoop is actively contributing through his clothing store in Inglewood, California. The store is accepting donated items, which his team will distribute to those in need. He encouraged others to step up and support their community in any way possible.
