Steven Tyler Has Been Formally Named In Lawsuit Alleging Child Sexual Abuse

Steven Tyler has finally been named in a lawsuit that claimed him to be a child sexual abuser and coerced her to abort a child. The Aerosmith frontman who was initially known as “Defendant Doe 1” was named on Wednesday, February 1, by his accuser Julia Misley.

Julia Misley who was formerly Julia Holcomb as at when she had dealings with Steven, filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court under the California Child Victims Act.

She is accusing Steven of grooming and sexually abusing her when she was 16 years old and Steven was over 20 years old. She also said that Steven coerced her into aborting a child she had for him. Julia is seeking an unspecified amount of money from Steven for compensation and trial.

According to Julia, now 65, she met Steven, now 74, in 1973, and they both stayed together from 1973 through 1975 before she left him.

Julia said in the lawsuit that she first met Steven in one of his shows. There, he invited her to his hotel room where he asked her what she was doing alone at night. Julia said they discussed her age but even after knowing her age, Steven “performed various acts of criminal sexual conduct upon” her. —per Rolling Stone.

After the sexual act, Steven personally bought her a plane ticket to his next Aerosmith show in Seattle since she was a minor. She went on to say that after the Seattle show, Steven performed another sexual act on her. The following morning, he flew her back to Portland.

Julia alleged that Steven met her mother and convinced her into making him her guardian so that he can take her on tours. She said that Steven promised her mom he would enroll her in school and keep an eye on her, but Steven “did not meaningfully follow through on these promises and instead continued to travel with, assault and provide alcohol and drugs to Plaintiff.”

When she finally left Steven was in 1975 after she got pregnant for him and he insisted she aborts the child.

Julia said she was pregnant with Steven’s son but the abortion took place after an apartment fire that made her inhale smoke. After the abortion, she left Steven and joined a Catholic faith where she’s now an anti-abortion activist.

In Steven’s book titled “Does the Noise in My Head Bother You?,” he mentioned he “almost took a teen bride”

Steven admitted that “her parents fell in love with me, signed a paper over for me to have custody, so I wouldn’t get arrested if I took her out of state. I took her on tour with me.”

In Steven’s book, he described his relationship with the minor, Steven wrote as though his relationship with the lady was a romantic one. “She was sixteen, she knew how to nasty, and there wasn’t a hair on it,” wrote Steven.

“With my bad self being twenty-six and she barely old enough to drive and sexy as hell, I just fell madly in love with her. She was a cute skinny little tomboy dressed up as Little Bo Peep. She was my heart’s desire, my partner in crimes of passion.”

Speaking of why she filed the lawsuit, Julia said, “I want this action to expose an industry that protects celebrity offenders, to cleanse and hold accountable an industry that both exploited and allowed me to be exploited for years, along with so many other naïve and vulnerable kids and adults.”

Julia says in the suit that she has moved on with her life but was made to relieve her past after Steven released his memoir, which was done without her consent and approval. “I am grateful for this new opportunity to take action and be heard,” said Julia.

Julia’s attorney, Jeff Anderson, said in a statement, “This industry, and these defendants have permitted, protected, and profited from severe violence for decades. It’s time to face the music. It’s time for reckoning… Now, adult survivors of sexual abuse can act under the [California Child Victims Act], giving voice and power to adult victims of assault.”
