In a striking revelation that has added yet another layer to the ongoing controversies surrounding Sean “Diddy” Combs, actor Terrence Howard has shared a deeply uncomfortable experience involving the music mogul—one that he believes may have been a veiled sexual advance.
The Oscar-nominated actor made the disclosure during a candid appearance on the PBD Podcast hosted by Patrick Bet-David. In the interview, Howard, 56, painted a picture of a bizarre and unsettling encounter that began innocently enough—with Combs expressing interest in acting.
“Puffy invited me, for weeks, asking me to come teach him how to — wanted me to be his acting coach for a while,” Howard recalled.
A Meeting That Took a Strange Turn
What was framed as a professional collaboration, however, quickly shifted into something that left Howard confused and disturbed.
Upon finally agreeing to meet with Combs, Howard said that the Bad Boy Records founder merely sat in silence, staring at him without any clear direction or purpose.
“I go there, and he’s sitting around just looking. I’m like, ‘Okay, what’s the material you want to work on?’ He’s just looking at me,” Howard recounted.
Trying to keep things on track, Howard agreed when Combs asked to hear some of the music he had personally recorded. But even as the actor played his music, Combs reportedly continued to stare silently, behavior that pushed the boundaries of normal professional interaction.
Unnerved, Howard later shared the experience with his assistant. The response he received added another layer of discomfort to the already tense memory: “‘I think he’s trying to f**k you,’” his assistant bluntly told him.
Standing His Ground in Hollywood
The Hustle & Flow star said the moment was not isolated in his Hollywood journey. He explained that inappropriate behavior from powerful figures in the industry is something he has unfortunately encountered more than once.
“A number of producers come in and make the approach, and you threaten to punch them in the mouth or threaten to knock their head off for talking to you like – or looking at you – like you’re a woman,” he said.
Howard, known for his intense performances in films like Iron Man and The Best Man, made it clear that compromising his values has never been an option. “I’ve lost businesses because I don’t bend over in that way. I don’t compromise. I don’t play gay roles. I don’t kiss a man. I don’t do that sh*t because the man card means everything,” he stated emphatically.
He added, “When you approach a real man about his masculinity, you’re gonna get a real reaction back. It’s a difference when a guy walks in a room and when a man walks into a room, and a man don’t take the same things that a guy will accept.”
Diddy’s Legal Woes Continue to Mount
Their paths would cross again in a professional dispute over Quincy Brown—Diddy’s stepson—who was slated to appear on Empire, the hit FOX series starring Howard. The issue reportedly stemmed from a disagreement over the rights to Quincy’s music.
“Diddy kicked up a huge stink and called all the top brass at 20th Century Fox TV to get them to change their rules over music rights,” an insider told Page Six at the time. “He said there was no way his son was signing over his intellectual property. So he banned him from the show.”
As for Combs, his legal troubles continue to escalate. The 55-year-old music executive is currently being held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, awaiting trial.
Initially arrested in September on charges including racketeering and sex trafficking, federal prosecutors have since added new accusations.
A superseding indictment filed on April 5 alleges Combs used “force, fraud, or coercion” to compel a woman into commercial sex acts as recently as 2024. With five total charges now pending, Combs is scheduled to stand trial on May 5.
