‘The Today Show’ Host Hoda Kotb Announces Her Departure

Hoda Kotb is leaving The Today Show, and no, it’s not related to any scandal about Sean “Diddy”  Combs. She’s been with the network for 17 years, and leaving it was not an easy decision for her. Read on to find out what helped her decide to put a lid on her career.

When people work in a place for a long time, colleagues become like family, and the workplace becomes like a second home. So, when she said that she was leaving it was accompanied by tears from the anchor who replaced Matt Lauer seven years ago. Of course, she also became well-known as she appeared with her friend, Jenna Bush Hager on Today with Hoda & Jenna.

Hoda Kotb is well-loved by The Today Show fans. For example, in  March last year,  they felt very worried because of her absence. It turned out that she had to take a leave of absence because her youngest child was in a hospital. Her daughter, Hope, had been in the ICU, and the host’s return was marked by tears of compassion. Naturally, her fans hope that it’s not ill health that led to her decision to walk away from her career.

Hoda Kotb Shares A Goodbye Message On The Today Show

 Hoda Kotb wrote a letter to her colleagues on The Today Show and it turns out that her family sits at the core of her decision to leave. She said:

As I write this, my heart is all over the map. I know I’m making the right decision, but it’s a painful one. And you all are the reason why. They say two things can be right at the same time, and I’m feeling that so deeply right now. I love you and it’s time for me to leave the show. My broadcast career has been beyond meaningful, a new decade of my life lies ahead, and now my daughters and my mom need and deserve a bigger slice of my time pie…

Well, you don’t get to be a famous face on a massive TV show without people expressing their opinions if you leave. So plenty of people, are talking about Hoda Kotb. Here are some reactions:

• She’s been at NBC for 26 years- maybe she’s just ready to enjoy her millions and time with family.
• She just moved to the burbs and she’s been talking about looking forward to spending time with her little kids. I don’t think there’s any scandal here.
• now how are they gonna fill 4 hours of programing (sic) each and every day[?]
