This Kevin Spacey Movie Eyes Theatrical Release In December 2023

Kevin Spacey’s upcoming movie “Control” will reportedly be hitting our screens this December 2023 and is in talks with buyers in the US and UK.

Prior to Spacey being cleared of his charges in the UK criminal trial, the indie thriller had already sold to several territories. Here’s what we know so far.

Kevin Spacey – To Return To Cinema Following Several Sexual Abuse Allegations

It’s a good day to be Kevin Spacey. On July 26, the actor was cleared of all nine charges alleging sexual assault against him and happily hasn’t been cancelled to the extent he can’t make a real comeback.

Since he’s been cleared of the sexual abuse allegations, his movie “Control” could be gracing the big screen sooner than was previously expected.

“We would like to have the film in cinemas in December,” Strath Hamilton, co-CEO of TriCoast Worldwide – the company repping the movie – said. He also revealed that they’ve entered “serious conversations” with US and UK buyers.

The Gene Fallaize film will see Lauren Metcalfe star as a British home secretary, who engages in a secret affair with Mark Hampton’s Prime Minister.

However, a man – played by Kevin Spacey – knows her secret and seeks revenge against her. One night, as she is driving home, he gains access to her car and uses it as a weapon to rampage the streets of London, with her trapped in it.

Hamilton revealed that “Control” had garnered positive interest from buyers in territories where “social media matters and culture wars are not top of the agenda.”

In the months ahead of the trial, the movie has already sold to Germany, the Middle East, Latin America, CIS and Korea, even though its distributors remain unnamed.

However, even before the verdict was announced, Hamilton said TriCoast was “very well prepped for the obviously possibility that these false charges would be proved not to be true, and had a lot of buyers ready in the U.S. and U.K.”

At the moment, Hamilton said they’re looking to find the best domestic partner for the film. Nevertheless, should it not pan out as expected, TriCoast can — and will, if necessary — release it itself via its distribution arm TriCoast Entertainment.
