Remember when Tim Allen got us all excited about a Home Improvement reboot? Well, don’t hold your breath. According to Tim Allen’s Home Improvement wife Jill Richardson, it’s never going to happen.
In fact, she says Tim Allen flat out lied about it. Yikes! Keep reading for all the details, here’s what’s REALLY going on with the alleged reboot.
We are officially living in an impressive Hollywood reboot era. A huge percentage of the highest rating dramas on TV and streaming giants are actually blatant reboots, spinoffs, or heavily influenced by an earlier show or movie.
A Home Improvement Reboot Is NEVER Happening
90’s sitcom legend Tim Allen seemingly jumped on the reboot bandwagon and began teasing a possible Home Improvement reboot.
The sitcom starred himself along side Jill Richardson, Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Taran Noah Smith, Zachary ty Bryan, and more famous faces.
After Last Man Standing ended its run in 2021, Tim Allen began referencing a possible Home Improvement reboot again. But, his co-star Jill Richardson says those are blatant lies and there was never a new Home Improvement coming.
The actress went on to say that Allen’s claims are ridiculous because none of the cast wants to make a new show with him.
Jill Richardson recently sat down for an interview on Back To the Best podcast, and had some shocking things to say about Tim and the alleged reboot.
Jill Richardson – Shades Tim Allen
Richardson explained, “I would hear on Twitter (or whatever) that he was coming out publicly and saying this stuff about how everyone was on board to do a Home Improvement reunion. But he never asked me, and he never asked Jonathan [Taylor Thomas, who played middle child Randy].
I called Jonathan one day and I said, ‘Has he asked you about this?’ And he went, ‘No. Why is he going around telling everyone that we’re on board when he hasn’t talked to you or me?’ I think that’s weird. He was lying to people and telling them that I was on board and I didn’t know anything about it.”
Were you hoping for a Home Improvement reboot or at least a reunion special? Or should some TV shows just stay dead?
