‘Today’ Hoda Kotb Replacement Finally Officially Announced

In September, fans of The Today Show heard the sad news that Hoda Kotb would be leaving the popular talk show and now, her official replacement has been announced. Of course, nobody can ever completely replace a fan favorite. But in time, people do become accustomed to change. Read on to find out who will step in.

Hoda Kotb Replacement Is Not A New Face

2023 brought rumors that Hoda faced financial problems and Today Show fans discussed the possibility that she has issues with spending too much money. Hopefully, since then, she got a grip on her financial woes. She had a long and successful career. So, her many fans do worry about her future. Whatever that rumor was, she’s not talking about it right now and had some good things to say about her replacement.

Naturally, many suspicious minds wondered if there was some sinister or dark reason for Hoda Kotb deciding to move on from the show. Some people suspected she had no option. But she certainly seems to be leaving a pleasant environment judging by her co-hosts. The officially appointed replacement is not an unknown face, and The Today Show website officially named the replacement this week.

Who Will Replace Hoda Kotb?

Craig Melvin will replace Hoda on The Today Show. According to senior Vice President Libby Leist:

“We are beyond thrilled to have Craig step into the co-anchor chair. He’s been an integral and beloved part of our family. From breaking news coverage in the field to presidential interviews to multiple Olympics and Super Bowls, Craig’s shown he has the talent and the range to cover all that we do here at Today. And he does it without ever losing that Southern charm.”

It is not clear if Craig Melvin agreed to a pay cut, which was one of the reasons why some people believed Hoda decided to move on in the first place.

Hoda Kotb graciously welcomed her replacement. TV Shows Ace cited her as saying, “You were made for this job. You have all the things that this job needs. You’re the right person for it.”

Though she’s moving on, the popular host will remain in the NBC family. But, it is still a difficult time for her, Of course, for Craig Melvin, who has been around for about seven years now, it’s an exciting time. You will remember him from Today Third Hour and as a stand-in host on The Today Show.

Someone had to replace Hoda, and Craig Melvin is smiling with excitement. He said, “This is the latest in a long line of blessings. I talked to Mom and Dad yesterday, and I’m thankful they’re still young…and healthy enough to be able to see this.” And that is a huge blessing, especially considering the dreadful years of the pandemic.
