Tom Cruise Estranged From Daughter Suri Amid Scientology?

Tom Cruise Plays – No Part In Daughter Suri’s Life

At 16, Suri Cruise turns to mom Katie Holmes for parenting. And that’s because her father Tom Cruise remains estranged from his daughter Suri. An insider revealed that the Mission: Impossible actor has not made any contact with Suri in a long time, according to Page Six.

Now 60, Tom welcomed Suri with Katie Holmes in April 2006. But in the wake of Cruise’s and Holmes’ split in 2011, Tom and his daughter became increasingly estranged. And the actor shared his views about how the split impacted his relationship with Suri.

“Listen, when there is a divorce … things change,” noted Cruise in 2013. And he admitted, “It’s not an ideal scene. It’s not an ideal situation.” However, Cruise then noted that Scientology reportedly took on a role in keeping him separated from Suri. 

Scientology Plays Role In Tom Cruise’s Estrangement From Suri

Transcripts from the actor’s 2012 defamation lawsuit against Bauer Media showed Tom revealing no contact with Suri for several months after he and Katie split. And in a deposition for that lawsuit, Cruise discussed Scientology’s influence on the estrangement. The Top Gun actor responded to a question about whether Katie split “in part to protect Suri from Scientology.”

And Tom replied, “That was one of the assertions, yes.” But 2016 saw Scientology again taking the blame for separating Cruise and his daughter. Because the church’s rules ban members from association with nonbelievers, Tom faced challenges. Neither Katie nor her daughter were or are members.

As a result, Tom allegedly could not maintain a relationship with either his ex or his daughter. And an insider shared, “This is his loss, his issue, his problem. He must be really brainwashed.”

Tom Cruise – Wants To ‘Wait’ To ‘Lure’ Suri Into Scientology?

However, former Scientologist Leah Remini clarified the role that Scientology reportedly played in keeping Cruise estranged from Suri. And Leah shared that Scientology views Holmes as a “suppressive person” and therefore an “enemy.” As a result, Tom allegedly feels he cannot maintain a connection to his daughter.

But Leah also offered a theory on the future. And she speculated that Cruise has concocted a “master plan.” That alleged “master plan” involves the actor waiting ” until Suri gets older so that he can lure her into Scientology and away from her mother.” But for now, Suri resides with her mother in New York City. And Katie has shared that she seeks to give the teenager a relatively normal life.

“My child is the most important person to me,” noted Holmes. “And her upbringing is paramount to my work right now. It’s very important that I’m present and she has a stable, innocent childhood. I feel so blessed to do what I do,” added the actress. “But there’s nothing in the world better than watching your child succeed.”
