For the first time since the franchise came into existence, fans will be getting back-to-back movies as a result of filming commencing for two “Mission: Impossible” installments.
The first movie, “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One,” in the two-part project was moved back two days to July 12 following the premiere of a twenty minute cut at CinemaCon.
The teaser showed Cruise’s character Ethan Hunt navigating high stake challenges as per usual: “The mission should you choose to accept it.”
Twenty Minute CinemaCon Teaser Shows High-level Action Sequences
Tom Cruise is known for his annual surprises at CinemaCon and this year was no different. The “Top Gun: Maverick” star sent a clear message to theater owners by sharing a 20-minute footage of the upcoming film, and it is sure to impress.
“Tom wanted us to let you know, this is not the opening of the film,” Paramount distribution boss Chris Aronson said of the footage, adding that he believes the film will hit a new high for the franchise.
Those present at the Los Angeles film conference watched a high-thrill car chase scene that saw Cruise’s Ethan Hunt, who is handcuffed to Hayley Atwell’s character, try to outmaneuver, not just the police, but other rivals after them. Let’s just say that the chase was not without its mayhem and then leave it at that.
“Dead Reckoning: Part One” Is Coming From Christopher McQuarrie, Who Has Directed, Written Or Produced Several Of His Projects Over The Past Decade.
The film will include appearances from Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames, Henry Czerny, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Angela Bassett, Cary Elwes, Indira Varma, Rob Delaney and Charles Parnell.
Cruise, who is widely known for doing his own stunts, has previewed a number of stunts that fans will get to see in the movie once it premieres. These stunts include skydiving or jumping a motorbike off the cliff in Norway.
