Tom Cruise’s Absence From Daughter Suri’s Life Because Of His Devotion To Scientology?

Tom Cruise's Absence From Daughter Suri's Life Because Of His Devotion To Scientology? It’s not every day that you get to watch your daughter turn 18. It’s also not every day that you get to take your daughter to prom. These and many other milestones achieved by Suri Cruise were missed by her father the “Top Gun: Maverick” actor Tom Cruise ever since his split from Suri’s mother Katie Holmes in 2012.

Sources close to the 61-year-old claimed that Tom hasn’t seen his daughter for over eleven years now. He was not just absent when Suri turned 18 in April, he was also several miles away from her few days ago when she attended prom in the arms of her rumored love interest, Toby Cohen.

The same sources claim that the reason Tom is an absentee father in the life of Suri has everything to do with his link with the “Church of Scientology.”

Investigative Journalist Tony Ortega told “The U.S. Sun,” that Katie filed for divorce from Tom after she saw how strict the Church of Scientology is with its followers. After parting from Katie who went on to gain sole custody of their only child Suri, Tom steered clear of his daughter’s life courtesy of his strong devotion to Scientology.

Tom Cruise — The Role Scientology Played In Splitting Tom From Suri

According to Ortega, “When Katie split up with Tom any normal Scientologist would be told she is considered a suppressive person — an enemy of the church. And Suri, being connected to Katie, would be considered a PTS — potential trouble source. Tom would be expected to disconnect from them and not have anything to do with them.”

Some former followers of the Church have been vocal about how the church is hell-bent on controlling people’s lives and breaking up families for its own sake. Ortega shared with the outlet that from his findings, the religion makes it a rule for its members including children as young as six years old to divulge personal information to its leaders.

“There is an interrogation tailored just for children in Scientology. The very first question is, ‘What have you been told not to tell us? What have your parents told you not to tell us? I think Katie saw that and didn’t want it for her child,” revealed Ortega.

Karen De La Carriere, a former member of Scientology for 35 years before leaving the religion in 2010, also agreed with Ortega’s views saying, “Scientology has no scruples or ethics on loyalty to family and wants only to break up families. Scientology first, family priorities low down in the order.”

Although Tom has previously denied abandoning his daughter, and even went as far as suing the publisher of two magazines back in 2013 for supposedly implying that he had abandoned Suri, Tom has also insisted that the Church of Scientology had nothing to do with his failed marriage with Katie.

But then, that is hard to believe seeing that he has appeared in different photos with his older children Connor, 29, and Isabella, 31, from his previous marriage to Nicole Kidman, 57, who are devout members of Scientology.
