Tom Selleck is not yet ready to bid farewell to the ever-famous cop drama “Blue Bloods” after its 14th installment. He not only wants to keep playing his character Commissioner Frank Reagan but he also wants to keep having those incredible Friday dinners with his fans watching him at home.
The series first aired on CBS on Friday, September 24, 2010, and has continued to air every Friday for the whole of its 13 seasons. The upcoming season finale is said to come in two parts and will be a total of 18 episodes.
When CBS first announced in November 2023, that the show would round off with season 14, the star of “Magnum P.I” released a statement to the fans of the series acknowledging them for steadfastly staying with the show throughout its run. “For the past 13 years it has been an honor and a privilege to work on a show that not only celebrates the men and women who protect and serve in New York City, but also displayed the importance of family,” said Tom at the time.
He went on to appreciate his cast members and everyone who worked diligently to make sure the show was a success. “Working alongside these incredible actors, writers, producers, directors and crew has been a dream come true and I’m grateful to have been a part of this extraordinary group for over 275 episodes.

Tom Selleck — Tom Is Certain That ‘People Aren’t Ready to Say Goodbye’
In an interview with “TV Insider,” the “Friends” actor told the outlet that when it comes to the show which has lasted almost a decade and a half, “CBS will find an awful lot of people aren’t ready to say goodbye to it.” He went on to add, “The show’s more popular than ever, and I think [numbers] will increase with the interest this year. We’re certainly not out of ideas.”
Looking back at when he started the show, and how much he has aged in the show, the 78-year-old revealed that he is more than willing to continue working on the show irrespective of his age. I’m not counting the days so I can do something else,” said Tom, “I love the work. Sometimes the hours are a little harder because I’m older. But so what? I want work as long as they’ll have me.”
The first half of “Blue Bloods” season 14 will premiere on February 16, 2024, while the second half will come later in fall 2024.
