Tom Selleck Reportedly Underwent Big Surgery

Tom Selleck appears to be recovering from a significant surgery. InTouch obtained footage on July 17 showing the “Blue Bloods“ and “Magnum P.I.” star leaving a gym with noticeable vertical scars on both of his knees.

This information has led to speculation that the actor had undergone knee surgery on both legs and did not share the information about his surgery with the public.

InTouch did not provide details on when the surgery took place. As of July 29, Selleck’s representatives have not commented on the report if the speculations are true or not.

Past Rumors About Selleck’s Health

In recent years, rumors about Selleck‘s health have been widespread, with tabloids frequently alleging he suffers from conditions like “crippling arthritis.” For instance, in July 2023, Radar reported that the beloved TV star was in “constant pain,” a claim that his representatives have categorically denied.

Concerns over Selleck’s well-being have increased following the footage showing his knee scars. Sources close to the actor have expressed worry, especially following a report in The National Enquirer’s Aug. 5 print edition.

Sources Say Selleck is Pushing Himself Too Hard

An unnamed insider noted that the 79-year-old actor is pushing himself too hard with various home maintenance tasks.

“Instead of enjoying his time off, he’s working himself into a sweat doing repairs on the house, tending to the land, and pitching himself into all sorts of postures a guy his age and size shouldn’t do,” the source stated. “He should take it easy, but he won’t. He’s lifting and climbing and doing most, if not all, the fix-it jobs himself. He needs something to do, but many feel he’s taking too many chances because when you to be his age, if you fall you break something.”

Going Back To ‘Blue Bloods’

Tom Selleck is going back to TV this fall, and he is still completely capable of work despite his health concerns.

Returning to the police drama series Blue Bloods after a lengthy hiatus, the veteran actor will play NYPD Commissioner Frank Reagan. Selleck’s portrayal of the anti-crime protagonist, Reagan, in the drama series which has been the network constant for many years has garnered widespread praise.

Blue Bloods has been aired on CBS since 2010, and its devoted fan base is eager for the show’s popular run to come to an end.

Season 14 is scheduled to resume on October 18. This season will mark the end of a remarkable era for Blue Bloods.
