Tori Spelling – Divorce Announcement Deleted
Dean McDermott, 56, and Tori Spelling, 50, seemed to enjoy an improved relationship in recent months, according to insiders. But then came Tori’s and Dean’s since-deleted breakup announcement. And that shocked even pals who knew about the couple’s past challenges, insiders told People.
The first indication of new problems in the marriage came from McDermott. And he stunned even friends when he shared on social media that he and Tori had agreed to separate. “Their friends have seen their ups and downs through the years,” revealed an insider close to Spelling. “But they really did seem to be in a good place in recent months.” As a result, the source felt that Dean’s announcement seemed “really out of the blue.”
He and the Beverly Hills 90210 alum did experience marriage struggles a year ago. And the insider admitted, “If this had happened a year ago, it would’ve been expected. Because things were terrible between them. Sure, they still had their disagreements and didn’t always see eye to eye,” added the source. “But the past six months things had felt good between them.”

Another insider close to the Beverly Hills 90210 alum shared that Tori and Dean “were definitely trying in the last few months. And things felt way less toxic,” added the second source. For instance, the allegedly now-estranged couple seemed to make “an effort to make holidays and milestones special.” As a result, their friends thought that Spelling and McDermott seemed “much more in tune with each other. It’s been a night-and-day difference from the last couple years.”
But McDermott then turned to Instagram to post a shock announcement. And Tori’s husband wrote, “It’s with great sadness and a very very heavy heart that after 18 years together and 5 amazing children, that @torispelling and I have decided to go our separate ways.” Dean also described the two as planning to “start a new journey of our own.” However, amid all the reports that the couple planned to divorce, McDermott then deleted the post. And Tori offered no statements of her own about the rumored breakup.
After tying the knot in 2006, Spelling and McDermott welcomed five children into the world. The two co-parent Liam Aaron McDermott, 16, Stella Doreen, 15, Hattie Margaret, 11, Finn Davey, 10 and Beau Dean, 6. But Tori and Dean have shared their marriage troubles. For instance, their reality show True Tori even explored their cheating scandal. And Spelling admitted the toll that the cheating took. “We had to start over. We had to completely rebuild,” added Tori.
