Travis Barker Talks About Being A Honorary Kardashian

It took three weddings for Kourtney Kardashian and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker to become officially married.

Since then, Barker has featured heavily on the Kardashians’ new reality show with Hulu, simply titled “The Kardashians.” Alongside this, he’s been touring with his band and recently released a new album with them.

For the rest of the year, Barker reveals he means to stay home with his wife and soon-to-be born son. We’ve all seen Barker being a caring husband in massively cute pictures the couple have taken, but he’s as sensitive to his wife and baby’s health as anyone can be. And he knows it’s important to slow down and spend time with the people we love.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, Barker is especting his fourth child with Kourtney Kardashian – it is also the couple’s first child together.

Speaking about the pregnancy in a recent chat with The Standard’s Joe Bromley, he said, “I am so excited [for the baby to arrive]. But it’s difficult travelling.“

He went on to reveal that the reason he’s touring while his wife is 8 months pregnant is because they never expected to get pregnant this quickly. “We didn’t plan that we were going to have a baby, it just happened. Timing wise it was like, wow: I leave on tour in three months,” he said.

So since May 4, the band has been on their 30th anniversary tour, though it was delayed when Barker heard that there was a medical emergency concerning his pregnant wife. Later on, the world learned that she had undergone urgent foetal surgery.

Still, it’s hard to be on the road when a baby is arriving, as anyone can likely guess. “It’s been a challenge being so far away from her when she is eight months’ pregnant.”

He plans to make up for this by taking time off to focus on his family. “I’m going to take a break from touring for the rest of the year, and just spend time with the baby, the family and my wife.”

You know Travis Barker; the guy whose style is so cool all his kids want to shop in his closet.

Literally. “I had to put locks on my closet because my son Landon [20] will just take everything. Same with my daughter Alabama [17], or my oldest daughter Atiana [24]. It’s all of them… But I love the age gap that I have with my kids. We all listen to the same music, and we’re all into the same thing fashion wise,” he said. “Well, Landon may be a little dressier than me.”

But another thing Instagram fans may know him for is the fact that he and Kourtney have been matching it up on the red carpet. Yet he insists no planning goes into this beforehand.

“My wife and I will accidentally do it sometimes, but the truth is she’s wearing my sweatshirt,” he said. “If we are going to the Grammys or something, she will just ask me: ‘hey, what colour are you wearing?’ And I’ll say, I’m wearing black or a pink Raf Simons trench coat. Then she figures it out. We don’t sit and plan anything.”
