Trevor Bauer Suspended For 2 Seasons Over Sexual Assault

In June 2021, a lady Lindsey Hill accused the Dodgers opening pitcher Trevor Bauer of sexual assault and domestic violence. In April and May 2021, the accuser alleged that Trevor punched and choked her unconscious, resulting in bumps, bruises, scratches, and other injuries.

The Major league Baseball concluded after an extensive investigation that Trevor did violate the league’s joint policy on domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse. Trevor  was then suspended for 2 years without pay after, effective immediately.

This is the largest punishment in MLB history under the domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse policy agreed to between MLB and the Players Union in 2015, as that number of games equals two full seasons.

Trevor Bauer’s – Denial

Bauer is in the middle of a 3-year, $102-million deal … and was slated to make more than $30 million in 2022 and 2023. In other words, if the suspension holds, he will lose more than $60 million.

Bauer has adamantly denied any wrongdoing, he says he will appeal the punishment and expects to win.

“In the strongest possible terms, I deny committing any violation of the league’s domestic violence & sexual assault policy,” Bauer said in a statement. I am appealing this action and expect to prevail. As we have throughout this process, my representatives & I respect the confidentiality of the proceedings.”

Bauer’s suspension comes two months after it was determined he would not face criminal charges over the allegations.

Trevor Bauer – Ready To Fight MLB Over Suspension

In the face of his unprecedented two-season suspension without pay by Major League Baseball for violating MLB’s domestic violence and sexual assault policy, Trevor Bauer is fighting to protect his pitching career, reputation, and earning power.

Now, it’s an arbitrator’s turn to decide whether he ever plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers – or any other MLB team – again. If the arbitrator sides with MLB, the 31-year-old pitcher’s full suspension of 324 games without pay would be upheld and Bauer would lose just over $60 million from a $102 million, three-year contract he signed last year. By that time, his contract with the team will have expired

If Bauer wins, he faces the prospect of rebuilding his reputation, as well as potential public backlash and mending fences with MLB and his team.
