Hilaria Baldwin has finally reached one million Instagram followers. Critics, however, aren’t happy about how it went down and have taken to trolling husband Alec Baldwin. Read on and we’ll give you the low down.

Critics Slam Shallow Alec Baldwin for Begging Fans to Follow
According to Newsweek, in posts leading up to the author’s 39th birthday on January 6, some social media users slammed Alec Baldwin as “shallow” after he seemingly begged fans to follow Hilaria on her Instagram page.
In the video, a seemingly tired Alec Baldwin addressed his followers saying, “We’re getting close. We’re not that far away from helping [Hilaria] cross the line to a million followers.” Of course, in the video clip, Baldwins also made sure to point out that he didn’t think he was begging – just hopeful (via Page Six).

“One million followers is what’s important on a birthday?? Give me a break,” one critic trolled on Alec’s video post. Another commented sarcastically, “Is that really important in life?”

Others were confused about why the Drunk Parents star felt he needed to share five separate clips about Hilaria’s follower count. “No disrespect but could you please explain why this was so important?” asked a follower.
Others added quips like, “Could you be more shallow?” and “Get a grip” and “Really? I’m almost embarrassed for you for even asking !! How shallow.” Other trolls referenced Hilaria’s Spanish accent scandal in which she had been caught being dishonest about her Spanish heritage.
“*cringes in fake Spanish*,” one comment read. Another follower wrote jokingly, “Does Hilaria magically become actually Spanish at one million followers.”
Followers For My Wife, Please?
Fans first went after the “Rust” actor/producer on Thursday after he shared a clip of him saying, “I would like as many of you as possible, I would like a really great, great surge of people to follow my wife on Instagram to say ‘happy birthday’ to my wife.”

Then Baldwin added, what does resemble begging, “Would you do that for me? Would you follow my wife on Instagram? Please?” Baldwin, who’s looking pretty rough these days, with bags under his eyes and a scruffy grey beard called Hilaria his “favorite person” explaining that she was “just centimeters shy of a million followers” on Instagram.
Hilaria Baldwin – Gets Help Her Kid
One of Baldwin’s children hopped onto the platform to help their mother reach the one million followers she sought. Alec continued, “As a birthday gift, or even just a gesture to my wife, would you follow her on Instagram?”
The mother of seven did eventually cross the threshold to a million followers with some additional assistance from the couple’s nine-year-old daughter, Carmen. “Follow my mom on Instagram — please, and thank you,” she said in a clip shared on Alec’s account.
