Vampire Diaries Alum Paul Wesley Joins Newest Vampire Project In Interesting Role

Who can forget that Paul Wesley played Stefan – one-half of the cool Salvatore vampire brothers – onscreen across several seasons from 2009 to 2017?

Not us lovers of all things undead, that’s for sure. Now he’s sinking his teeth into a brand new Vampire project, and with his expertise with the genre, all I can say is bring it on.

What Paul Wesley’s New Vampire Project Is All About

‘Vampire Diaries’ may have ended in 2017, but Wesley has continued to be a strong presence for the fanbase to this very day.

He regularly attends fan events with one or more of his co-stars, and while Ian Somerhalder has sadly waved goodbye to the acting phase of his life, the two still got together recently to give us an epic pose at the famous – or should I say infamous – Salvatore mansion from the show.

So when a new vampire project came knocking, you can’t blame Paul Wesley for swooping it up, especially since the script was written by none other than ‘Santa Clarita Diet’s’ Victor Fresco. Liz Friedlander is attached to direct.

Okay, okay, before I get too carried away, the untitled comedy “centers on a determined 25-year-old vampire who struggles with running the family business for his murderous and suffocating vampire parents while trying to chase his dream to become an actor.”

The project has entered production and Wesley will be executive producing the series for Fox News, and it will focus on the vampire that wishes to become an actor.

At present, no one knows whether Wesley will be playing a role in the show or if it will be a strictly behind-the-scenes involvement, but I’m sure he’ll be ready to dust off his fangs should the right part appear.

Even though the script was written by Fresco, the actual pitch came from an idea crafted by Paul Wesley, the pilot director Liz Friedlander, and Aaron Kaplan of Kapital Entertainment.

Wesley, on his own part, has been pretty busy since he concluded playing the cool vampire in the CW teen drama, including appearing in 2024’s ‘History of Evil,’ which he executive produced.
