For five seasons of the hit TV show, Jennifer Love Hewitt was the ghost whisperer. And while it’s been 13 years since fans said goodbye to the CBS supernatural series, Hewitt believes enough fan interest still exists around the project to allow for a revival. What do you say?
Jennifer Love Hewitt Calls “Ghost Whisperer” One of Her Favorite Jobs
Who wouldn’t want to talk to ghosts, albeit onscreen? Jennifer Hewitt has no problems returning as Melinda Gordon; a woman who has the gift to see and speak to ghosts.
While trying to live as normal a life as possible – she is married and runs an antique shop – she’s frequently confronted by the dead who haven’t found peace and many of them tend to be menacing at first.
Appearing on the “Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum,” the “9-1-1” actress shared her thoughts on revival and reboots.
When asked whether she would return to the Fox show “Party of Five,” Hewitt candidly admitted she wouldn’t, despite having had her break from the ’90’s teen drama.
“I would do Ghost Whisperer,” Hewitt said. “I loved it. It was one of my favorite jobs. Melinda Gordon, hands down, one of my favorite characters I’ve ever played, if not my favorite, today. I would love to do it.”
At the moment, there’s been silence on whether “Ghost Whisperer” will join the new revival/reboot wave, which has seen the return of “iCarly,“ “Sex and the City,” “Gossip Girls,” “Full House,” and many more.
Even though CBS canceled the show after five seasons, it still attracted enough fans to have ran for a full five seasons. The supernatural drama was crossed with a bit of detective energy, which made it lovable to fans of CBS, who are used to such shows as “Fire Country,” “Yellowstone,” and “FBI.”
Throughout the series, we see Hewitt’s character help earthbound spirits find peace and crossover, while still trying to make her personal life as normal as possible.
The series also stars Aisha Tyler, David Conrad, Camryn Manheim, Jay Mohr, Christoph Sanders, and Jamie Kennedy, and while we hope it gets picked up for a revival, you can watch the entire series on Hulu.
It’ll especially help with the decision because networks will see that public interest on the show is still very much active; it’s what happened to “Suits” and news of a revival has already arrived.
