Whoopi Goldberg Faces Backlash After Allegedly Trying To Destroy A Small Business On AirFans are dishing it out to Whoopi Goldberg right now after it was revealed that she made an error during the live broadcast of ‘The View’ as regards to the reason her special cake request was denied.

According to Goldberg, her differential political opinion was the major driving force behind the business refusing to place her order.

Staten Island Leaders React To Whoopi Goldberg’s On Air Claim About A Small Bakery Business

Whoopi Goldberg has just landed herself in an uncomfortable spotlight again due to some disparaging remarks she made on air.

The comments that did put her on blast were made on the Wednesday, 13 Nov. episode of the show.

“Now, I should tell you, Charlotte Russe has no political leanings, and the place that made these refused to make them for me,” the liberal-leaning host told her audience, even though she refrained from naming the bakery. “They said that their ovens had gone down, all kinds of stuff, but folks went and got them anyway, which is why I’m not telling you who made them.”

She added: “They did not like my politics.” Goldberg has always displayed her strong dislike for Trump, even opting to not say his name on air for years.

Following her remarks – despite refusing to put a name to the bakery – Staten Island leaders demanded an apology from the longtime TV host for falsely alleging that a Big Apple bakery refused to fulfill her order due to her poltical leanings.

The bakery in question is a 145-year-old family-run business called Holtermann’s Bakery on Staten Island.

“Recently someone took to the national airwaves and defamed, frankly, this family business,” borough president, Vito Fossella, said during the live conference. “We’re here to stand up for one of the best families and businesses, not just in Staten Island but in the country.”

“Frankly, the people who defamed the Holtermann family should apologize … for making stuff up to suit their needs. Not everybody wakes up every day and thinks about politics,” he added.

The bakery has continued to insist that they really were experiencing mechanical issues with their 60-year-old boiler.

Small Business Booms In Light of Latest Comment From A ‘The View’ Co-host

However, this turned out to be a blessing in disguise as people from all over the country started patronizing the small business.

“I really am overwhelmed,” owner Jill Holtermann told The Post. “I’m so happy to have the support. Just to have people come out and talk and build up my business.”
