Jada Pinkett and Will Smith have faced rumors about their relationship for years. For instance, at one point gossip swirled that the two had become swingers. And another time rumors (false) alleged that Jada cheated on her husband with Marc Anthony. But Will and Jada have clarified their relationship, noted Cosmo.

When Jada and Will met on the set of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Sheree Zampino was his wife. However, after they split, Will phoned Jada to ask about her relationship status. And when she mentioned her lack of involvement, he showed his feelings. “Cool. You’re seeing me now,” Will informed his future wife.

The two tied the knot when Jada had become pregnant with their son, Jaden. And rumors quickly swirled about their marriage. However, Jada herself views the reports that the two enjoy a swingers-style romance as the craziest. And she said, “That’s the craziest one. It’s constant. And I’m like, yo, I wish. I wish,” she joked.

Jada Pinkett and Will Smith began their relationship as a monogamous couple. But, clarified the actor, the arrangement evolved. And Will explained that evolution as well as the open marriage rumors via Page Six.

“Jada never believed in conventional marriage,” said Smith. And he revealed that his wife’s family members enjoyed “an unconventional relationship. So she grew up in a way that was very different than how I grew up,” noted the actor. As a result, the two got involved in “significant endless discussions about, what is relational perfection? And for the large part of our relationship, monogamy was what we chose.”

But Will added that he and his wife gave one another “trust and freedom” in their marriage. Because he believes marriage “can’t be a prison,” the actor feels that his relationship benefited. And to doubters about their relationship, Will defended their path. “But the experiences that the freedoms that we’ve given one another and the unconditional support, to me, is the highest definition of love,” he added.

And an insider offered some thoughts on the relationship. “Will and Jada, at the end of the day, are like a normal couple who just happen to be glorified because they’re famous,” said the source. And the insider described the two as occasionally fighting, then reconciling. But “at the end of the day, they do love each other,” summed up the source. And Will once told Jada, “I could love you through anything.”
