Will Smith Insider Claims Star Should Be Allowed Back Into the Academy Awards

After the success of ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die,’ there is only one thing in the minds of fans; Will Smith was never cancelled.

However true this may be – I mean it is Will Smith we’re talking about – he’s still not permitted to step foot anywhere near the Oscars for almost a decade.

To add to this, he was also forced to step down from his role as a member of the Academy’s voting committee.

Nevertheless, an insider thinks it’s high time Will Smith got his redemption arc. Is the Academy ready to make it happen?

I bet you you can’t name five actors above fifty without naming Will Smith – if you ask me, the list should go, Jackie Chan, Will Smith, Tom Cruise, Dwayne Johnson, and Hugh Jackman (but nobody’s asking me right?)

Anywho, the “Gemini” star’s supporters are hoping to see him back on the Oscar floor sooner than the ban would admit him.

“Will’s defenders are always reminding people that, with respect to ‘The Slap,’ Will apologized in no uncertain terms, but more importantly, Will is selling tickets and putting butts in seats at a time when the whole business is struggling,” a source exclusively told In Touch.

“That counts for a lot – just ask Will’s old pal Tom Cruise. Nobody was bringing up Scientology when Tom was filling cinemas week after week two years ago with Top Gun: Maverick. Will is a sinner, but sinners can be forgiven and he’s driving a lot of business right now, against all odds,” the insider continued.

What’s keeping the Academy from offering him this olive branch? “Well, there are still people in the Academy who think Will should have been arrested for what he did.

The big change this summer is that the fans have spoken, and they want Will to keep being a movie star. That’s huge and Will is using that as his rocket fuel to get back into the good graces of the Academy, which has more Black members than ever before,” the source concluded.

I won’t even try to get into the slap and all the uncomfortable emotions that arose from it. But what do you think? Is it high time to let the slap go and give Will Smith back all his laurels? We can at least admit that he’s earned them.
