Will Smith's Fans Happy He Was Never Canceled For Oscars SlapBad Boys: Ride or Die took the Summer Box Office by storm after exceeding expectations. The fourth installment of the blockbuster movie starring Martin Lawrence and Will Smith ranked number 1 after amassing $56 million domestically and another $48.6 million internationally, for a global debut of $104.6 million, marking Smith’s career comeback following his infamous Oscars slap aka “The slap heard around the world.”

The news was indeed music to the ears of Smith’s fans who had faith that the actor would make a loud comeback even though he’s been banned from the Oscars.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) they rushed to share their excitement with one user saying, “I love how we all collectively agreed that Will Smith was never canceled and we don’t give a f**k about the slap,” and another adding, “We didn’t cancel him, but we did give him a time out in the corner. I’m happy to see Will back and doing great.”

A third wrote, “I’m glad this movie is gonna put him back on track with his career and this proves everyone still loves Will Smith we’re human we mess up sometimes,” and the fourth said, “Proof that everybody still likes Will Smith.” Their joys also showed when Smith made a surprise appearance at the screening of the movie.

Will Smith — Smith’s Surprise Appearance Sends Fans In Frenzy

The “King Richard” actor shared a video of his visit to Baldwin Hills to watch the screening of the hit movie. He said in the video, “We’re in Baldwin Hills. We’re about to go in the theater,” Smith says in a video. “It’s a ritual I have, when I have a movie come out. On Friday, Saturday, usually a matinee on Sunday, I like going to the theaters.”

The clip featured Smith in an all-black ensemble with a black face mask that disguised him, sitting in the crowd and watching the screening like any other viewer in there. At the end of the show, when everyone was heading out, Smith who had already removed his mask said, “Hey, I’m glad y’all enjoyed that. That was a good movie.”

At the realization that the person who spoke was Will Smith, the whole place was in a frenzy. Those who already left rushed back to give him a handshake and hug him, take videos with him, and scream some more. Smith went on to tell them, “I was in there the whole time with y’all!” and someone was featured screaming “10 over 10” while taking selfies with the actor.

The excitement was felt in the comments section. Someone wrote, “No actor ever….Will Smith: sits in the theater and watches his own movie then takes pics with fans!! The dopest!!!” Another wrote, “This man [Will Smith] was born to win and he’ll remain a winner.” A third commenter wrote, “Whoever counted Will Smith out…couldn’t count” and ended it with three red heart emojis.
