However, despite the public apology statement, the altercation resulted in Will Smith being banned from attending the Oscars for 10 years.

Will Smith – Apologizes To Chris Rock And His Family

Months after the Oscars incident, Will Smith took a moment to address the issues and the questions of the people thrown to him online. In the video he posted on social media, he apologized to Chris Rock, his mom, and his brother, Tony, for bringing their family into that unpleasant experience.

He wrote a text saying: “It’s been a minute… Over the last few months, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and personal work… You asked a lot of fair questions that I wanted to take some time to answer.” Despite the massive number of critics he received after the slap, the 53-year-old actor still got a lot of fans who showered him with love and support in the comment section.

In her latest interview with Billboard, Willow Smith talked about her dad’s charming personality and finally expressed her thoughts regarding the Academy Awards incident. “I see my whole family as a human, and I love and accept them for all their humanity,” she said.

“Because of the position we find ourselves in, our humanity is sometimes not accepted, and we are expected to act in a way that is not conducive to a healthy human life and is not conducive to honesty,” she continued.
